It is gorgeous out today. If it could be 60-75 degrees and low humidity all year, i would be in heaven.
I have been working on weeding the yard much of today. We have ribs in our smoker, and i hope to sit on our deck and read a bit once I've hit my limit for yard work.
I also just walked to the grocery store for the first time in the nearly year i have lived here! I just needed 1 thing so it felt easy to carry it home. I need to do that more often now that i am not as concerned about maximizing my store trips. I love exercise with a purpose.
There are newer/easier spacers too; or at least newer than the last time I tried to tile. What is the current floor material? Can you get it off the subfloor? If you can, you could then do a self leveling concrete and lay tile on that?
I think I could, it’s just linoleum and peels up easily.

We were going to order Indian Friday night, but H had high blood sugar from his second shot. His blood sugars are final back to normal so bring on the naan!
I enjoy my bird feeders so much. I also bought a little feeder for the squirrels that looks like a bench. I am going all in!

Oh yeah- I'd totally peel up the linoleum and see what condition the subfloor is in. I hope it's in decent condition and you can use self leveling concrete or something similar to give you a flat surface. (Assuming that you can't find contractors. I'm totally projecting what it's like here. ha!)

Yesterday’s birthday celebrations got a little wild. It has been a few decades since I last imbibed the whacky tobaccy, and I got a little carried away.
The nice part was, in my mild freak out, my H took my hand and we just walked around the back yard chatting for about an hour until I felt better. We had a fire in our little fire pit and destroyed a huge charcuterie tray. It was so great. Pot is an awesome marriage counselor 😂
For various reasons, I haven’t been to my office since Tuesday. It’s been wonderful. There was enough time to be productive and lazy. I super cleaned my cooktop and grates with Bar Keepers friend, but also watched a lot of Netflix.
We are going to Mexico in August, so I’ve started shopping for that and I did my favorite activity when I get restless at home, walked around TJ Maxx.
My step kids get picked up in 30 minutes, and I’m to the part of the weekend where they clean up their stuff!
I made chimichurri using parsley from my garden and it was excellent.
I let dh grill the steak and he didn’t remove the membrane on the back, the heat was way too low, then he sliced it with the grain. That was one chewy piece of leather with a delicious condiment over the top.

I am worried we won’t be able to find contractors. It isn’t some emergency but I’m tired of it looming over my head. Maybe I’ll just get started and if I hit a wall (possibly literally) I’ll start calling around.

Anecdotes, but I got my first vaccine in my left arm and second in my right, with a larger gauge needle than the first and holy hell, was my arm sore the day after the second shot. I could barely lift it.
For my first (and only so far) shot I rubbed and moved my arm for the whole 15 minute waiting period. At times it was a one armed chicken dance. I looked ridiculous but it worked - sort of. My arm never really hurt and I was even able to sleep on it. In fact, it felt much better than my headache, fever, total body aches, chills and nausea. But no sore arm!
