I went through a phase when I got a gel dip manicure every 2-3 weeks but I really didn’t enjoy the process and sometimes it looks awesome and sometimes it looked not awesome? Haha. And it ruined my nails. Oh, and then I got divorced and lost all my extra cash.

Pre Covid I went for a gel manicure every 2-3 weeks. I did this for 6-7 years, with a few breaks. I haven't done false/acrylic nails since my wedding in 2005.
Now, I paint my nails myself. They don't last as long as gel or look as good as when a professional does them. But, I finally found a process that works for me and doesn't chip after 4 hours. I painted them on Saturday and they are still looking good. I have one small chip that I just noticed today on my right ring finger. I stick to lighter, natural colors most of the time, since they are more forgiving.
When we go on vacation in December, I will most definitely get a gel mani before, so I don't have to worry about them while there. Maybe that will restart my addiction. LOL.
@sameoldstory. Yes, I did acrylic for years and years. Not in the last few years, but I loved them when I had them. Depending on the timing of the trip next week, you might want to get them filled before you leave. I did every two weeks or the gap as they grew drove me mad.
I’m pretty regular with pedicures but hands - i go through phases. I’m in a no polish phase right now. When i do gel, i do it 3 or 4 times then stop to let my nails recover.
But I’m also trying to be cautious of $$ right now, so part of the reason I’m taking a break.

I used to get dip nails in the before time, every three weeks. Once I go back to the office, I'll probably go back to it. I do get a pedicure every month in the summer months as it's something I'm not good at and I like how it feels.
I'm cheap, so I don't do it often, but I love a gel manicure. I get maybe three a year, but love how they look when they're done.
I'm actually treating myself to a gel manicure and regular pedicure next week for my birthday and I can't wait! I'm awful at painting my own nails, so I never do it myself, but do sometimes use Color Street for special occasions with the glittery strips.

I’ll get a manicure or pedicure every once in a while as a treat (just regular polish, sometimes I’ll spring for the long-lasting kind but not gel.)
I actually haven’t gotten my nails done since covid, but in the Before Times, I traveled a lot for work and it was a relaxing activity to break up an evening I might have otherwise spent in my hotel room. Plus, then my nails looked nice for my meetings the following day.
I have very weak nails from chronic nail biting so acrylics would just make them worse. I got them once for a wedding but it's not something I could maintain.
I am doing Invisalign now and an unexpected upside is that it has forced me, after 43 years and countless attempts, to finally stop biting my nails. They are longer and stronger than they have ever been in my life. I'm thinking I might get them professionally done to celebrate!
Manicures- every 6-8 weeks I get a manicure but just to clean up my cuticles bc they are horrible. I don’t get them printed bc I hate when they chip and I don’t have it in me to go every two weeks to do the gel
I've never gotten acrylics or gels. I barely paint my own nails - MAYBE once a year - and have only had a professional manicure maybe once since my wedding in 2010. I get pedicures a few times each summer.
My mom gets her nails done every 2 weeks. Her best friend owns a salon. She needs to get them filled that often.

I have never been a regular mani person. I got some color Street in the fall and I’ve been using those regularly since. I’ve never been able to keep regular or gel polish more than a few days if I’m lucky and I can keep color street a week plus

Acryllics? No. Had them once for my wedding and HAAATED them.
However my "self care" splurge/routine is to get a dip mani every 2 weeks. I missed it so much during lockdown/pre vaccine, and I've decided I'm ready to start that up again. I love love love it. It's just a small thing I do for myself to help me feel more put together.
The powder dip is way more gentle on my nails than the gel too. Love it.
I should do a pedi more often, but I don't care about that as much. I can slap some nail polish on there and go about my day. But I love getting a mani
I don’t like the feeling of dip or acrylics. But pre Rona I was pretty much on a every 10 day schedule for gel. Next week I’m starting back up before a vacation. They make me feel pretty! Gel and a fresh blow out and I’m floating on clouds lol
Nail salons have been closed in my city since last November due to the pandemic and I am so looking forward to getting a mani pedi when they open again, hopefully within a couple weeks.
Normally I get pedicures monthly and I will go through spurts where I get shellac manicures every few weeks. I don’t bother with regular polish on my hands because it chips so easily but shellac is tough and it looks perfect until it grows out. Eventually I get sick of the upkeep and take a break.

Yes, I have acrylics with gel polish and I’ve had them off and on for the past 2ish years. I feel more put together with my nails done. 🤷🏼♀️ Gel manis never lasted for me more than a week but I can get the gel acrylics to last 3 weeks. If you like them, then keep them. I’ve also found (for me personally) the acrylics damage my nails less than a basic dip/gel mani.

I used to get my nails done all the time but I really don’t like the way others do it. So I do my mail myself weekly. I love pedicures but they’re too expensive here so it’s a rare thing. I had my 1st one done last weekend and that was since December 2019. I usually only get pedicures done when I visit toronto.

I get a pedicure once a month and randomly get manicures with gel polish. I would get a manicure every two/three weeks, but I don't want to spend the money!
I just recently got acrylics again. I love having pretty nails. I usually let them grow out (rather than fill) and will just keep buffing/filing down the edge and redoing the polish. They get thinner, look more natural, and will eventually be super easy to rove without damage.
I have terrible nails. Thin and bendy. I’m also a picker/biter. I used to occasionally get acrylic in high school and college but it absolutely ruined my nails. I’m shivering just thinking about it.
I’ve done gel off and on the past few years. That also ruins my nails. Lately I’ve been doing the non-mlm colorstreet (incoco) and I love it! Life changing. I also seem to not pick or bite my nails as much since I started taking Wellbutrin. Not sure if it’s related. I can even use regular polish bc I’m not picking as much.
Years ago, yes, but not now. I didn’t care for the upkeep/time commitment and cost. Now my person care splurges are just getting my hair done and Botox. But if it makes you happy, go for it! .
I think it would make me feel more polished or put together, but frankly I’m too cheap for the upkeep, even if I was able to wear them. (Healthcare = short and natural)

Never acrylics. But I get pedicures as I live in slippers year round. I don't care if it chips, and all but my big toes have seriously tiny nails where you can barely see the color on even a fresh paint, so someone's probably appalled at me. Meh, don't care.
