I also donโt understand the Disney love. I accidentally click into that board instead of CEP on occasion and it freaks me out.
Spending a vacation at multiple theme parks is my worst nightmare.
Ha, this was going to be mine. I've never been to any of the Disney parks. I feel like I need to go once in my life but recently realized...do I really need to go when I otherwise have little interest in going and when the only times we can go are either peak times or when it's hot as hell at the end of August?

My parents keep on telling me that I "have" to take the kids. No thank you. They don't seem to realize that they never took me either.
There are benefits, but I donโt know whether theyโre worth the cost.
I get this. I worked at home 3 days a week before the pandemic and always thought I wanted 5 but now that I have it? I don't know. Or maybe I just I would just like it if I had the option to go into work. Sometimes I just miss leaving the house lol. Also I have a new office that has a view of DC and the river that I haven't seen! lol
Same. I just really miss leaving my house and being around people. Technically my office is open right now for those who want to be there, but with zero covid precautions in place so I don't feel comfortable diving back in. I miss the random banter and running into people in the kitchen. Now it's just me and my boyfriend, home together, 24/7. I also think I was a lot more productive in the office because of the clear boundaries.
Pizza is meh. Virgin River is the worst show of all time. Matching family christmas pajamas are just dumb.
I have a lot that are sure to anger many, lol.
H and I have known each other almost 20 years, married for 15 with an 11 year old. This year the kid decided we needed matching family pajamas for Christmas. We have never worn matching clothes. I bought us all a nice blue green plaid from old navy. There will be no pictures (except maybe in jest). ๐คฃ๐

A friend reports that early November is a quieter time. Idk how true it is. I went to Magic Kingdom once in high school because my parents felt obligated to take us. It was fine, but not the best trip of my life or anything. My friend loves Disney and I try understanding. I just donโt.
I promised my kid weโll go once. Iโm mildly interested in Harry Potter world. Iโm going to delay the trip as long as possible:
In 99% of cases, baked cookies are disappointing. Iโd much rather eat the raw dough.
I think Aaron Hernandez is (was) sooo good looking. Usually poor actions, morals, personality, etc cancel out any physical attractiveness for me, but in his case I can kind of see why some women go for men in prison, lol.

A major factor is that H also works from home now. I donโt think it has had a positive impact on our marriage. A little mystery and independence a good thing. Weโre all in each otherโs business now and I hate it.
YES. It has been terrible for our marriage. And we used to work together!

I am from Orlando, return regularly to visit family, have relatives that can walk me into the park for free, and in my 8.5 years as a parent have still not taken my kids to WDW.
I grew up going to Disney and loving it, but it is just so complicated now with the wristbands and the apps (I know, I am very "get off my lawn" about this). Back then the parks were the only place that you could really do Disney stuff and it was a special experience, but since then Disney has taken over the world and I can buy Mickey Mouse underwear at every Target in the country. I feel completely inundated by Disney at every hour of the day and going out of my way to subject myself to more is unappealing.

My DH is a teacher and we have school-age kids, and DH and I are both very much against taking time off from school to go. So that leaves us with peak periods, with the exception of end of August when much of the country is back in school but we're not. But, I also hate how hot summer is in NYC so I would be downright miserable at the end of August in Florida or SoCal.
I hate Christmas*. The movies, the songs, the obsession with buying STUFF. Get rid.
*Except for children. They are allowed to enjoy it up to a certain age.
Yes this. The "Iโm so stressed, I have to buy for 72 people, what should I get my 2nd great uncleโs sisterโs girlfriend??" is irritating as hell. No, no you donโt have to buy a damn thing for anyone.

I didn't go to Disney until I was in my 30's, and then I was like ooooooh this is why my parents didn't take us. Between the cost, the exhaustion, the effing strollers pushing you out of the way. Sorry not sorry but just because you have a stroller doesn't mean you get to go any faster. I didn't have time for a vacation after vacation either so I was exhausted when I got back. I also told DH to get Vegas out of his system the one and only time we went, because I'm never going back.

wanderingback, I just heard on the radio someone say they couldn't afford to give much to a giving tree/toy drive "because they have to shop on Cyber Monday". JFC at least they were donating, but stop buying wasteful sh!t your nephew won't even use and buy one toy for a kid who won't get one! Plus save the damn money for a better use.

Iโm sorry. We work really well together too. But this is a lot of time in the same house. I donโt think this is healthy. Heโs also very introverted and needs socialization built into his day. With people outside this house.
