OH MY GOD Big’s death scene was ALSO worse than I expected! He was still alive! You know he was sitting there thinking “fucking stop sobbing on me and call 911, bitch.”

I haven’t watched, but saw my ER doc friend last night, we were tipsy and she went on a drunken tirade about his death lol.

I'm not trying to put any blame on the victim. This is a real question about heart attacks and arms.
Could he not use his arm to reach his phone? Like..flop over like a seal to it? It was 2 inches away! I'm really asking what happened bc I didn't get it.
Also, I felt like he was *alive* but like..neurologically dead. And also, I think about these shows way more than any person should. 🤪🤦♀️

They made a point to show him dropping the phone as he turned the shower on and I assumed that was to answer the “why couldn’t he call 911?” question. His phone was soaked.

He was only semi conscious. He didn't have the strength or presence of mind to use the phone. Probably took everything he had to stay alive until Carrie got home.
I feel like an idiot. We have HBOMax through Hulu and it tells me I can’t watch until Dec. 19.
I don’t really care enough to really worry, but I was being lazy this morning so I figured I would throw it on and see what’s up, but nope.
I googled, but it said something about being released over seas early and in the US later, but then I got distracted and forgot about it.
I’m dying about the peloton and their stocks falling because of it.
Edit : I just mentioned this to my husband and he was like ::click click:: “this?” No idea wtf happened this morning.
I also subscribe to HBO Max through Hulu and there are always thinks I don't see if I look in Hulu. I added the HBOMax app and always go through there when I'm searching for something.

He even moves his arm up to hold her while she's crying and not calling 911!
Ok, after my declaration that I would NOT watch, I am watching. This death scene, so bad.
lol I don’t know if I can watch the second episode. It’s all so terrible. They’ve put in every topical/timely cliché they could think of and it’s too much. And whatever work Kristin Davis has had done to her face is…not good.
Oh and I don’t think I’m a prude and the show should be about sex, but the scene with Big and masturbating was SO awkward. Maybe I’m ageist or maybe they don’t have the same chemistry or something because I haven’t felt that way in other shows or movies when a character masturbates. But it just felt gross for some reason. Maybe it was his weird heavy breathing, I don’t know.

I was visibly cringing at that too. Sooooo awkward.
The show made me think of my ex-FIs cousin who loved that show. She lost her husband to a heart attack WHILE THEY WERE HAVING SEX and he when he was only 35. When it happened she told me every detail, including her instantly calling 911 and running downstairs to open their front door so EMS could get into the house while she stayed with him. God I hope she didn’t watch that.

If you have HBOMax through HULU you should be able to log into the HBO Max app using your Hulu credentials and see stuff right away. I did that until recently when we started getting HBOMax for free.

Ok the IG video kinda makes me think, did Peloton REALLY not know the content of that episode?! They were able to produce an ad within a few days of the premiere with no scheduling issues around a working actor?! Like Chris Noth was like oh hey I’m not busy sure let’s do it now. Ryan Reynolds too?
Are they just riding the no such thing as bad publicity wave?

HBO said that they weren't informed of the plot line due to secrecy around the series.

Also, Jess King was off the schedule yesterday very last minute, so it appears this was actually done yesterday.

I was excited when I heard about this reboot because it felt refreshing to have a show about 50-something women. Like your comment above reminded me of how Charlotte made that crack at Miranda about dying her hair. Women are damned if they do, damned if they don’t. Either they’re criticized for looking too unnatural/trying too hard, or they’re criticized for “letting themselves go.” I was hoping they’d explore those sorts of storylines.
FWIW, I thought they all looked great. I kind of liked that Charlotte and Miranda had normal middle-aged bodies. They all had the normal amount of rich white women work done. It wasn’t like watching Nicole Kidman in Nine Perfect Strangers and being at once amazed and jealous and depressed because normal women do not age like that. I wish we’d stop holding older women to this weird standard where we expect them to at once look fresh and youthful but also make it look like it happened naturally.
I am thinking WAY too much about this show. I wasn't even obsessed with it in the original run.
My guess is they are showing all of the characters at their worst right now so they can build them up. Okay fine. But because this is a return of a series it would have been nice to at least have one episode that was campy and light hearted to suck everyone back in. Just catch us up. Introduce some of the new characters, and not in a "hey can I eat your soggy cold fries" awkward kind of way. Then hit us over the head with all of the serious life stuff. And made everyone seem so unlikable.
I’m 39 and have never listened to a podcast. I wouldn’t even know how to find a podcast if I wanted to listen to one 🤣 I do have instagram for my business but I’m not “good at it” 🤣 I listen to the radio, watch tv, and read books. I don’t own a kindle or iPad, and would definitely prefer a paper textbook if I was taking a class right now. I felt Miranda’s cringe moments rang very true.
I feel you with all of this, and I will be 42 in a few days. I have a personal instagram just so I can access the business one, but all the passwords got changed and now I can't even do that anymore. I also buy notebooks and planners all the time because I fail all the time at digitizing these things.
I enjoyed the original show, but I was younger and dumber back then. I'll eventually watch this one, but I'm not ready yet.

Oh, I hated how they made such a big deal about eating fries!!
Like really we are still doing that thing where we act like women can't eat "bad" foods. Now THAT is so 90s.
I actually thought Cynthia Nixon looks great. I don't see any evidence that she's had any work done. I was bummed that Kristen Davis did the lip fillers, she's already so pretty without anything else.

I totally get what you're saying. The criticism, and I'm not talking necessarily here but everywhere, has me feeling something I can't quite articulate. I agree with you.

FYI - it all came together in 48 hours. They had been talking to Ryan for a while after his funny spoof ad but this happened after the episode aired.

I feel like..the issues around aging and looks is where I can feel the loss of Samantha and Kim Cattrell. She was the oldest woman on the show and the writers had her character confront these topics. Like "should you or shouldn't you use enhancements as you age?"
Personally I loved how Samantha was always like "I LOVE myself and I want to feel GOOD in my body!" And they had her character live that value in everything from sex to relationships to clothes to working out to botox and hair color.
