H got us tickets to go see Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins in concert in November!
Ahhhhh!!! I hadn't heard of this tour. I need to convince my H we should buy tickets and go. Live Nation had their $25 all up tickets last week but none of the bands I was interested in were playing by us (I was hoping for Alice in Chains). I did suggest maybe we'd want to see Jack White, but my H was hesitant about a big venue because covid. But I think he might make an exception for Jane's Addition and Smashing Pumpkins though.
Also, I'm kind of expecting (accepting?) that I might get covid in September anyway because we have a wedding that's been postponed twice already, that I'm pretty sure is going to go on this time no matter what. There are a lot of weddings I would skip, but I really want to be there for this one.
I got promoted recently to a director position. I have hired two people and I am shocked at the amount of money we are giving these people. My first hire makes quite a bit more than me, and I do pretty damn well. The market is crazy.
Um, yes. I'm hiring right now for the role I started in 10 years ago at my organization. We've screened 8 people. ALL of them want at least $20K and often $30K more than it makes, which makes it basically my salary two rungs up from that role. I want us all to be paid appropriately but it is like pulling teeth to get my organization understand that we are NOT going to fill these roles at this rate. HR keeps trying to get me to consider new grads and this role requires practical experience. If I hire a new grad, it will take me years to train them up to where they need to be and in the meantime, they are getting paid $20K less than me for me to do their job and mine too? No.
ETA: I've been asking for six months to just have my boss review my salary to see that I'm in line with my male co-workers. It either has not happened or they know I am not in line and don't want to deal with it because crickets.
Yeah, I hired a guy making probably 100K more than me with signing and stock bonus. I am guessing folks won't put up with it much longer though.
After evading it for 26 months, I tested positive for Covid this morning. I’m really sick. I have a fever, aches, chills, violent coughing, my eyes are itchy and burning, and I’m just finding it hard to get out of bed. DH is going to pick up DS from school and then they’ll both test. Would not be surprised if we all have it.
Any tips? Does regular cold medicine help?
Mucinex and Advil. Advil helped a lot. Especially with the general malaise feeling.

Especially come January 2023 when our state requires salary ranges on all job postings.
I was reading the letters submitted pleading the judge for leniency in the sentencing of Josh Duggar and I see that Michelle Duggar dots her i with a heart.
Apart from the obvious stupidity of this, it seems like such a waste of time.
