I had a dream that I forgot about DS2’s birthday party and we went and did something else and then were scrambling to get supplies and go to the place we were having it. I somehow knew it was a dream, but I couldn’t get it to go away. At least I’m sure to be prepped and ready this evening for it. Lol That was so stressful and annoying.
In better news, my team is leaving the office early today for happy hour. I plan to head out early from there and get what I need for the party and then have a couple of cocktails with DH while I make cupcakes.

Today is our day 6 post ds testing positive for Covid, so he is back at school with a mask and dd and I tested and we're both negative, woohoo! That is such a relief.
I just washed the throw pillows and blanket that ds touched from where he sat on the couch doing school work while he was home this week (no one else sat there or touched them). One of the pillows had a cover, but the other one didn't, so I threw the whole thing in thinking it might get a bit lumpy but would generally be fine, but it got completely torn apart and now my washer and the other pillow cover and blanket are covered in fuzz. Yay.
Both H and I are still testing positive for Covid even though we are now on Day 9. His work finally let him come in today, except he's not allowed in the office only client sites. That place is so bassackwards.
We had a money conversation last night and H wants us each to run all purchases by each other. Um, no. He's the one who rings up $1500 a month on his credit card buying lunches and random shit, I'm not running a $6 Starbucks purchase by him. No thank you. He can fuck right off with that bullshit. Clearly this whole marriage thing is working out well.
Why don’t you set a limit for “fun money” for each of you? He can spend it all on lunch if he wants. You can get Starbucks. Nobody has to run anything by the other. I don’t disagree with him that running purchases by each other (within reason, obviously you’re not going to call from the grocery store to ask if he’s cool with you buying crackers) might be a good idea. Maybe it will help you both reign in spending and get back on track financially.
Also though, if he’s actually spending $1500 a month on lunch… *faints* holy shit.
Slept like crap again thanks to this cold. We're out of cold meds, so I'm going to run up to CVS at some point and get more. Nice that masks are still in so no one can see my red nose and obviously not breathe on anyone.

Our streak of no illnesses and no throwing up has ended. DD is on day 3 of something (2 negative Covid tests). 102 this AM and asking for MCD's fries. Let's try to hold down half a bagel today and go from there.
Yesterday she watched and loved Miss Congeniality, also saw 27 Dresses for first time. Trying to think what she can watch today. Legally Blonde,Clueless, Little Women. I need to look them all up on Common Sense Media as I forget if there are sex parts. Thinking not though.
I’m going on a girls weekend to the mountains and I am SO excited. DS2 has field day today and DS1 is presenting one of his last school projects of the year. I love the end of the school year so much.
Today is my H's 40th birthday! It's been a nice day so far. I gave him his (2 small) presents when we woke up, and they were both hits. Then I made Trader Joe's chocolate croissants for breakfast, which was a surprise to him that also made him happy. My parents also called and sang him happy birthday on the phone, which I loved because they have done that every year on my birthday but I don't think they've ever done it for my H before. His parents/family aren't particularly involved or loving people so I'm glad me and my family can still make him feel special. He IS special and deserves it.
We realized last night that he hasn't gotten any text messages on his phone since he got a new phone in December, other than for some reason messages from me get through. Apparently this is a known issue with Pixel 5a's on Verizon. I am dying that he only just now has noticed this. As I said above, his family isn't very involved and usually emails since they live in Europe anyway. He has friends, but doesn't often text anyone and doesn't have anyone locally that he makes plans on his own with. So he doesn't do a ton of texting in general but still - that's a long time not to get any texts, lol. I am thinking I might bring his phone over to Verizon to fix it today. I was planning to run out and do a couple of things around lunchtime anyway and on the off chance someone wanted to text him happy birthday, it would be nice if he could receive it!
I went to the dr yesterday about the fluid in my ears and congestion in my nose. It's been more than 2 weeks of fluid/congestion, 1+ weeks of neti pot 3x/day, flonase and mucinex so she got me a steroid and antibiotic. If they don't work she'll refer me to an ENT. Cool cool.

DH and DS left this morning to go to a baseball tournament about 4 hours away. They'll be back sometime on Sunday.
DD has dance recital rehearsal after school and then she and I are going to the family fun night at school. Tomorrow no firm plans, but I'm deciding if I want to try and brave Costco when they open. I'll take DD to dinner somewhere (her choice) tomorrow evening. Sunday afternoon is her dance recital.
There is a new Japanese restaurant in my town, so I think I'm going to treat myself to take-out from there for lunch today. (And bring my doggo along so he can enjoy a car ride.)
We were supposed to take G to the Orioles game last Saturday night, but the game was canceled due to rain. So we got tickets for this Monday night, and now there’s a 90% chance of rain. Boo.
I’m going to a Democratic summit tomorrow, and I’m excited to meet some of our gubernatorial candidates and hear them speak. It’s so different meeting them in person vs. just reading their website or social media posts.
Every time I look at the thread topics I'm disappointed that someone isn't asking for help picking a fight. I can't help with flights, but I'm your girl if you're looking to start a fight.
I got a perfect score on my final project for my second master's course. This professor was really hard and I was paddling to keep up all semester but I'm really proud. As an adult, achievement in school hits different. I have several LDs and have built coping mechanisms my whole life so finishing my first semester of grad school with a 4.0 is really... unexpected.

I took today and Monday off from work. I'm lazing about, but I really need to do some cleaning. I threw in some laundry, but the stupid washer crapped out on the spin cycle again. My landlord insists there's nothing wrong with it, just like every other issue with this place. Come on housing market I need a new place to live! The house I've been eyeing dropped it's price, but I think it's still too pricey. It is unchanged since 1963 when it was built. Why do so many houses have random toilets in the basement? Just out in the open next to the washing machine, so odd to me.
I feel a responsibility now to come up with a fight thread. What should we fight about? Kid sports? East coast vs west coast? Splitting checks evenly or by what you ordered? Destination bachelorette parties? Is a hot dog a sandwich? Is Post Malone attractive?

What? I have never seen that. I mean of course I have seen basements plumbed for a bathroom but never a random toilet out in the open. That would seem odd to me too!

I just googled it. Some people call them Pittsburg Potties. Due to old school plumbing sewage backups were common. To prevent sewage backup into the main part of the house, toilets were installed in the basement. Sewage backs up the pipe and into the fixtures that are connected to it.
Only 2 more weeks until I take the big kids on the trip to England & Wales my mom wanted to take them on ❤️ So excited to go back to the UK and see family!
Poor Ds1 is really struggling on the social skills front and the school is useless in helping with that. Luckily his OT is in network and is willing to add a social skills session each week for him and bill it as OT so insurance cover it.

I just had white sandwich bread for the first time in....a really long time. We eat wheat for health reasons. I don't care what anyone says...white bread is fucking fluffy and delicious.

Want to go up against an elementary school SPED teacher?

PDQ
Houses I've looked at in the last year I could still find pictures of:
poof
At least the last one isn't completely out in the open, but this isn't an uncommon setup.

I was reading the letters submitted pleading the judge for leniency in the sentencing of Josh Duggar and I see that Michelle Duggar dots her i with a heart.
