I appreciate all of you still sharing your experiences. I'm still thinking about it but the side effects are really intimidating to me as someone who already deals with GI distress more often than I'd like and as someone that threw up every morning of both pregnancies.

I have only taken one dose of Ozempic so far, so I don’t have a lot of history to go on. But I will say so far it has been fine. I did feel nauseous the day after and threw up once. But since then I’ve felt fine. And I’m not sure if this will last, but my GI issues have improved this week. Maybe that’s a fluke? I’ll update when I have taken more doses!
I took my third dose of Mounjaro today. I'm down 8 pounds in three weeks and very happy with that. I don't feel deprived or hungry, either. I haven't had any extreme side effects, other than lack of poop. I added a probiotic in and that is starting to help.
Two weeks into Mounjaro and I’m down a little over ten pounds. The best part for me though is that I don’t even think about food. I am someone who obsessed over food. Planning the next meal while I’m eating a current meal kind of obsessed. And I haven’t even been tempted to binge. This is life changing for me.
I am so amazed at the progress for so many of you! I am on week 8 of Ozempic. I have Hashis and am teetering close to prediabetes (had GD during both pregnancies), but my endo recommended Ozempic because I rapidly gained about 15 pounds in the last year. I’ve only lost 3 pounds.

I started on 8/20, and I'm on my second week of 5 mg. I have had few side effects - the occasional heartburn and insomnia, for some reason. I've lost 12 lbs so far. This medication is changing my life in that the "noise" around food is gone. I'm no longer constantly thinking about food. I can eat small or maybe even "normal" amounts and feel full. I am so thankful for this medication.

Here to give you support. I'm also happy for everyone having such great success. But I'm almost a year on Wegovy, and I've lost 15 lbs. I also have no thyroid (had Graves disease and had it removed back in 2006), had gestational diabetes with both pregnancies, and was in the prediabetes range ever since. My bmi is no longer obese, but I'm still overweight and my goal was to lose at least another 10 lbs, but I haven't lost anything in the past 2 months. I am happy to no longer obsess about food, except that if I'm not losing weight eating this amount, I don't feel like I can drop down to eating less in a healthy or sustainable way, so that is frustrating. I did experience a lot of nausea at first, and I still get some mild nausea occasionally, but it's really negligible now.

Wow, I fell down a black hole last night and just got my prescription sent to the pharmacy. Should be ready this afternoon. Just hoping I don’t have an issue with the coupon.
I’m pretty convinced I have PCOS, even though I have no cysts, I have other symptoms. Especially dark hair on my jawline/neck. I’m hopeful that weight loss will alleviate that.
Not entirely sure what happened but I just received notification that the official prior authorization was submitted to my insurance this morning by Alpha. So that would be about six weeks from when it was requested, and I'm already almost a month in on the medication. I'm about to request a refill with the coupon, so this should be interesting.

I will add to those with trouble losing weight. I’ve lost a decent amount of weight, and still have plenty to go. I’m using this as an opportunity to decrease the amount of foods that do not work well with my body. Like dairy causes inflammation and other bad side effects. Wheat is harder for my body to process, so I’ve cut down on that. So, while realistically I’ve just eating less overall, I’m also using this opportunity to have the upper hand in something difficult for me to do/stick with usually. So, I’m an outlier, basically.

Time for my update! After week 1 I am down 5 pounds. Had some nausea the first couple of days. I still have cravings, but I’ll walk to the fridge and nothing seems good and I forget about it. I don’t just binge on anything I find. I’m eating less at meals, and feeling full. I don’t ever feel hungry.

I'm only on day 5, but basically feeling the same- nothing seems worth eating to me, although I do force myself to eat some. It's wild!
I took my 3rd shot last night. I’ve lost 9lbs so far. My doctor wants to see me monthly. I will take one more dose at .25 then move up to .5. She said she’ll monitor me there and likely won’t move me up unless weight loss plateaus.

Just started Mounjaro yesterday and feeling pretty nauseous. Does that get better as the week goes on? I can barely eat or even drink water without feeling like I’m going to throw up. I was on Saxenda for years but the high dose was just becoming a major GI problem so now I’m trying this. I’m a little concerned that maybe I can’t handle meds like this anymore or that I won’t be able to go beyond the 2.5 dose. Any advice?

Definitely got better after a couple days. My third shot last week no nausea at all (but also not really helping me feel full). Hoping for better results when I move up to the higher dose next week.
ohdarling, I promise it gets better. I can't speak for Mounjaro but at least with Ozempic and Wegovy I had several days after the injection where I felt like utter shit. After several weeks at the dose it was better but then with dose change it would ramp back up.
What I found helped the most was sucking on hard candies. It got sugar in and didn't make me super nauseated.

Did you have very good results on Saxenda? I am on it now. Not noticing too much in appetite suppression, etc., but am getting the constipation issues. Maybe I need to increase the dose or try something different.

It’s weird, but look it up. Sniff rubbing alcohol pads.
ohdarling, you can also try dramaine. Look for the non drowsy kind. I read that might help.
I just did my first 7.5 on Tue and have felt pretty good! I was worried about nausea because I definitely had that with the 5mg some but so far I have been good. I'm so close to reaching a 20lb loss since I've started! We leave for Mexico tomorrow but I'm just going to have to watch foods I choose- nothing too spicy etc and not go too crazy on alcohol. I plan to try and walk everyday too or can go to the gym.

I did pretty good on Saxenda in the beginning. I was on it for almost 3 years, but if for some reason I ended up sick on the higher doses- it was pretty violent and the vomiting was so bad that I was down for like two days and had to completely stop for a week and start over from the lowest dose. As time went on that was happening more and more and I was regularly starting over. I was just never able to get back to the higher doses so I stopped losing. I am going to see the GI doctor to see if there’s some reason why that happened but I just think the medicine wasn’t for me anymore. I also lived in Miralax, I had to take it every single day.

Yeah I had a glass of wine last night and it wasn’t the best idea. I’m definitely struggling with food right now and the what/what not to eat and drink. It’s day 4 and my stomach is still a little yuck feeling but I’ll look for the dramamine.
Has anyone experienced any insomnia from it? I take my dose Saturday mornings. I consistently have horrible insomnia on Sunday nights. I have tried everything over the counter I can think of and still am averaging like three hours of sleep on Sundays.

I'm one dose in and was suggested by my pharmacist to take it at night. I took a Benadryl, my dose in the back of the arm, and went to bed 2 hours later. I did wake up an hour or so early. I also use a topical magnesium cream.

Interesting - thanks! My pharmacist gave me no instructions even though I said I didn't know anything about it. She said to talk to my doctor.
I take ozempic. But my doctor recommended injecting in the thigh for fewer side effects. Has to do with more muscle in the thigh which leads to a slower absorption.
I haven’t had insomnia. But I get extra tired on Sundays (I take it Saturday night). I take 1-2 naps on Sundays.
