Adults doing Disney isn't a hobby/interest like knitting though because I'm pretty sure that KnittingLand isn't 1. designed for children and 2. wholly divorced from reality.
1. I think the Disney adult fans are evidence that Disney is not designed just for kids. They know how to attract multiple generations. 2. It's not divorced from reality. It's immersivs, like books, tv, movies, conventions, and religion. Visiting does not require disconnecting from reality.
I appreciate the note from sent on accessibility. We talk privilege a lot on this board and not worrying about stairs while planning a vacation is a huge privilege.
I didn't fit the poll since I don't have kids, I enjoy the parks, but choose to vacation elsewhere. DH hates the company so I have visited random times over 15 years with other friends and family.
I've cruised Disney once, Carnival a couple, and RCL once. Food, customer service, cleanliness, adult only zones (like the spa), and the dang private island on Disney was waaaaaay better than the other two.
My coworker just went to a scrapbooking convention this weekend. Sounds like my worst nightmare, but good for her for finding joy.
I really think we would all be better off if more people found activities that bring them joy. Lean in. Get weird. Be a Disney Adult. If you are not harming others, then good for you.

This has been my absolute favorite part of my 30s, I no longer care about what others think. That constant worry about judgement held me back from trying all kinds of stuff when I was younger, now I do whatever I want.
And so now I have 3 Disney themed shirts that I wear to the parks. Lol.
You don’t need it to have a great trip, but for me I LOVE the planning part. Spreadsheets with the park days, meals, top priority rides for everyone are my jam.
I’d like to go every year, especially while my kids are young- it brings them and me joy.
We just got back from 3 days in the parks at Disneyland plus Oogie Boogie Bash. We had a great time. I am not a fanatic, but I like rides and my kids and husband do too. We stay on property there because the access makes it easy and this trip we had to cancel one of our park days, and if we hadn't been on property we would have been screwed. But the front desk was able to override their system and get us reservations for the last day of our trip and we did a half day before we flew out. I know it's not for everyone but for us it's something we love as a family and will still likely do every other year or so because when we go, we go all out and stay at the Grand Californian.
This was also the first year my girls got into pin trading, and that was fun to watch them explore the different boards and break out of their comfort zone to do something different.
