If you are in the south, shop the BOGOs at Publix. I often plan what I'm going to eat around them or stock up. I've seen some things are now B2G1 instead of BOGO. Coke was/is having a sale on 8 packs B2G2, so I got 4 total. In the long run it's cheaper, and I'll use these to keep soda consumption down instead of using 2 liters. The Publix brand soda used to be 79 cents. Now it's $1. Everything is going up.
I go to Publix every week and mainly only Get BOGOs and get the rest from Walmart pickup. I will get fruit and snacks depending what is on bogo that week. But eggs. $7 a dozen?!! That’s what I saw this weekend.
That's crazy! Kroger's cage free medium eggs are about $3.59. I buy from my neighbor at $6/dozen, but they are from her chickens.

Eggs are $4.49/dozen at Food Lion in NC (MCOL area). For cage free/pasture raised/free range it goes up to $6.99/doz.
What kind of kettle are you buying!? Target has several for $25 or less.
I got a Chefman with temp control, but I didn't even think to check Target. It was about $25 on sale but hasn't shipped yet, so if I can find something similar at Target I'll just cancel it. I don't want to wait a month to be able to make good tea 🙂 Thanks for the tip!
I hope you can get one that way. Waiting a month seems crazy.
$100 makes more sense if you're getting something that has temperature control pre-sets though.
The meat counter at Kroger has marinated meat and peppers for fajitas and sometimes if I don't have dinner planned and it's 5:00 I stop and get some for a quick easy dinner. It used to be $4.99 a lb for chicken and $7.99 for beef but tonight it was $9.99 for chicken. Totally not worth $20 so I don't think I'll be doing that anymore and I'll have to figure out a new quick last minute dinner idea.
For a minute I felt like my grocery bill was going back to normal around Sept/Oct but now it's crazy high again.
I wanted to make roasted tomato soup this weekend and all varieties were $3.99/lb! I need 3lb for the recipe so no thank you to $12+ soup. I started making this recipe this summer when we had tons of tomato and peppers from our garden so it was free. Next summer I need to see if I can make the soup and freeze it for winter.
our electric shot up this year; tripled in price. Our latest bill for 30 days was $300. This time last year it was $110. Eggs Milk Chicken (side note-I order the store brand organic. They were out and subbed it with Tyson brand, which I would normally never buy. But the price for 4 Tyson chicken breasts was $5! I normally pay $12! I can see why people buy Tyson!) Eating out Airfare
The Stonyfield yogurt pouches my kids eat are $2.25 a piece now. They can go through multiple a day. Needless to say, they are doing without for now.
We bought reusable pouches on amazon and just fill them with yogurt from the big/better priced tubs for our 4yo. The pouches come in a couple sizes so you can have pretty generous portions. Great for breakfast on the way to daycare.

When I’m in a situation like this, it’s completely justified because I compare what I would be spending to pick up take out or fast food, and the grocery store, even overpriced, is usually better. I mean, you still need dinner!

Eggs even at Aldi are now $5. It’s the apocalypse as far as I am concerned. Are we still dealing with bird flu issues…or what is going on and when can we get some relief?!

So I'll admit I don't really know how much eggs were before prices started going up, but they aren't really something that has struck me as something super expensive lately, but EVERYONE seems to keep bringing them up, so I made a point to look at the price when I bought them yesterday. They were $3.19 for 12 large eggs at Target yesterday. That doesn't seem odd/high to me? But yeah, if they shot up to $5 for the same 12 eggs I'd be annoyed.

It’s interesting how the prices are so variable. Last Easter I was buying eggs for 92cents and I’ve bought them as low at like 75cents. I just checked and they are $4.49 at my Target and $4.67 at Walmart.

interesting! I will have to look at Target next time.
The normal cost for eggs (not organic or anything) was around $2.99 per dozen. Now for the same eggs its $6.19. I am lucky I live in a rural farm area; I now buy eggs from my secretary, $4 per dozen and they could not be more fresh! (she just raised her price because of the cost of grain)

I wonder if it’s regional? Last week I bought 12 cage free eggs, store brand, at Harris Teeter for 3.79. And I can’t remember our Aldi’s price but it’s definitely not $5.
Ice cream out at an ice cream shop. Why is ice cream for a family of 4 over $20? It's insane.
We've started just going to McDonalds for soft serve cones or Wendy's for Jr. Frosty's. Under $5 for all of us and everyone enjoys it. I just can't spent $20 for ice cream.

When signs started appearing in stores about an impending shortage due to bird flu, I paid .59 for a dozen eggs at Aldi. In the last couple of months they've been between $3 &$4, and now they're $5 and over.

Prices seem to vary due to location from what I can tell. I just left Target and a dozen of Target brand eggs were $7.29, but a dozen of Eggland’s Best (which are usually more expensive) were only $4.99. Cage free brown eggs were the cheapest today at $3.79 a dozen. The prices change almost daily here and many stores are out of stock a lot of the time.
Items that we're really noticing, though not necessarily surprising: - DS's lactose free milk - half and half - eggs - butter
Often our local Trader Joe's doesn't even have half and half or eggs. It's been like that for almost a year now. Whatever supplier they use must really have taken a beating. Some weeks they won't have milk, either, and cream cheese / sour cream are hit or miss.
White rice at Costco is so expensive now. I used to buy 50 lb bags for about $17. That same bag is now $29.
I also buy wheat berries for milling into flour, and the price has doubled through Azure Stanrdard.
Boar's Head deli meat is $17/lb at our chain supermarket now. I looked back at a receipt for an online order I placed at the same store two years ago, and it was $11.50/lb.
I usually have my head in the clouds about grocery prices but the increases lately have been making my jaw drop regularly.

Yes, so expensive. And I make ice cream and it used to be so cheap. A quarte of heavy cream at Aldi was 1.79 and now it's 3.49. Still cheaper, but before it was practically free.
