abs, I know, it just feels wrong to me! When I was young I listened to a lot of Led Zeppelin and Queen and stuff that I considered at the time to be classic rock, so it just seems so weird that "newer" stuff is now classic rock, lol. IDK if I'm making any sense.

Oh I agree. I just bookmarked a classic rock ride from Ben and I’m like Whitesnake is from the 80s. That isn’t classic! No one correct me on that.
Ferris Bueller’s day off was June 5, 1985. The FIRST time I felt old was as a young professional in the late ‘90’s when I referenced it to one of the teenaged volunteers who said “Sure, I know that movie, it’s a classic”. I screened “excuse me, youngin” as I shook my cane. So, when I caught the recent anniversary date of almost 40 years, it was a new blow.

Anyone in their 30’s and younger. Daily
My cousin who was born when I graduated from HS is having her first baby very soon.
A 7th grader was wearing cassette tape earrings. I asked her if she knew what they were, she giggled and said no. I told her it was how I listened to music when I was her age. Her eyes got really wide and she said ‘really!?!? How?’ 👵🏻
We were looking at yearbooks with my SD. Only the first 30 pages of my senior yearbook was in color. So the baby picture page was in black and white. She asked me why and then said “oh that’s just how picture were then- in black and white” umm no! I was born in 1984 not 1954!
I was listening to a classic rock station the other day and they played Basket Case by Green Day.
I was also talking to my mid-20s employee the other day and he was talking about the school-issues laptop he had in elementary school. I was in middle school before we even had a computer lab where the computers were desktop PCs!
Trying to learn how to properly use Discord is making me feel old right now. I don't think it's even that hard, it's just new and clunky to me, and the instructions given for how I needed to get verified for a server were awful.

Oh and one more, a local radio station that a has been around since the dawn of time, that played music from my mom’s generation when I was young, now plays music from my generation.
I teach high schoolers. They make me feel old on the regular. 🤣🤣🤣
Same. My middle school students had very poor sense of historical events and no tact. I have had students ask me if I was around during WW2 and when women got the vote.
Meanwhile, my favorite radio station plays 70s, 80s and 90s, and I realized a couple of weeks ago that it's the same time period as when the radio played the "oldies" from the 50s and 60s when I was a kid.
My son and I looked for a geocache today. The containers could me any size, any type and a description is always given. I told my son that we were looking for a 35mm film container. He said "So that will be something small, right?" I forgot he had never seen one.
I also asked him jokingly if something was "all the rage" and he said "that phrase isn't". So much pain!
I just remembered something worse! When my son got his Switch he said" Imagine if people from the 80s could see this!!" WTF?? I said, "I'M STANDING RIGHT HERE."

The latest big thing is L going to hs. It's making me feel incredibly old. And my baby cousin who was 5 and our flower girl just graduated college and got her first adult job. wtf.
Also a specific tiktoker talking about the McDonalds birthday parties and showing pictures that are exact replicas of the pictures I have from my 4th or 5th birthday party at McDonalds.

I refuse to listen to any classic rock station these days because I know I will encounter a song from my teenage years and react appropriately. GREEN DAY IS NOT CLASSIC, OMG, GO BACK TO PLAYING THE EAGLES!
I was talking to a Gen Z'er at work about Cameron's house in Ferris Bueller. She nodded along. Only afterwards did I realize I made the assumption that she knew what I was talking about. It made me feel very old.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

It became a running joke with my US History class this year. Each of them tried to roast me for being old with content-specific references during a lecture. It ended up being my favorite part of working with them this year.

When DD asked me what the "funny looking plugs" were at a recent open house. They were phone jacks. She gave me the blankest stare when I tried to explain.

Commenting on the music to my server about how places play uncensored versions. I was only customer so we were chatting in his boredom."Yeah, we love the oldies."
The very first time it really hit me hard was several years ago (maybe around 2010). We were really busy at work and I said to two younger co-workers, "It's like Lucy and Ethyl in the chocolate factory." And they had NO IDEA what I was talking about.
Recently, it's that my niece turned 30. She feels young for her age sometimes, but still. 30.
Oh, and my older sister is now ready to start receiving Social Security.
DS2 was watching me type a work email the other day and asked me how I learned how to type since they didn't have computers when I was in school (ouch #1). When I told him we had to take a typing class with a typewriter, he asked me what a typewriter was (ouch #2).
