I just saw the viral tiktok with the teenage girl who doesn't know what cassette tapes are. And the summer interns at my office.
Also, a funny reference. I just turned 37 and H and I keep joking about the Monty Python Holy Grail constitutional peasant sketch where they meet Dennis. www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2c-X8HiBng&t=35s

I thought cassettes were all the rage for the yoots. It have they already gone back into the annals of history?

I see a few of you have touched on this, but a big one for me is when the "oldies" station plays songs from when I was in high school. WTF, man? I graduated in 1999.
My cousin (who is older than me) posted some meme that said something like 1939 is as close to 1980 as 2021 is. I think my head exploded.
DS2 was watching me type a work email the other day and asked me how I learned how to type since they didn't have computers when I was in school (ouch #1). When I told him we had to take a typing class with a typewriter, he asked me what a typewriter was (ouch #2).
I'm 40. I refuse to admit I'm old.
I'm 40 also and in kind of surprised that you used typewriters! My typing class was all about Mavis Beacon.

I remember Mavis Beacon!
Yes! We used Mavis Beacon in a paper book, while typing in a word processor. My mom complained right before 9th grade started that I got bumped from typing class (where we learned to type memos) and got me put back in. Kind of glad I was placed back in even if she was a Karen, because I used those skills all through HS.
My brother joked that they should have given all HS kids access to AIM and that we'd learn to type real fast because we'd want to chat with our friends.
