As I propped a pillow under my legs to rest tonight (it's comfier for your back!) I recalled that I always wanted--and frankly still want--a Craftmatic Adjustable Bed.
Man, those old folks looked so relaxed! They could watch TV then lay down to sleep without moving a muscle! Who doesn't want that?!?
Oh, I wanted that plastic packing/storage thing where you suck out all the air and a king size comforter is shrunk down practically to the size of a deck of cards.
I owned 0 king size comforters, but man did I want to suck the air out of 15 of them and stack them up like bricks in the linen closet I didn't own.
My husband was obsessed with this pasta maker that was SO stupid, you put the pasta in a tube and added hot water. You still had to heat the water I think so it didn't save time or anything. I threw it out the first chance I got and acted confused when it got "lost".
The adjustable bed is amazing. My friend had an adjustable base for her bed and she said you could position it so that all the pressure on your lower back is relieved. She said it was incredible.
Not from an infomercial, but when I was a kid I wanted a battery-operated car to cruise the neighborhood. lol

I’m embarrassed to admit I loved that thing that “intabtly” thawed your steak. Here”s a thick piece of metal, run it under hot water and then put your cold thing on it! But need ir worked. I loved that thing. I don’t actually have it anymore but I use my cast iron the same way.
There was a hand blender, I think also make by RonCo, that I wanted so badly as a kid because in the infomercial they made milkshakes with skim milk and they looked delicious. I probably watched that infomercial 30 times over its tv lifespan.
I actually checked it out from the library via Hoopla a few years ago, but there was no way to turn on captions (I wanted to read along with what I was hearing) and one of the plot lines (about a French princess or something) seemed really sexist and weird. And this was the updated version, so I wonder how cringe the '80s era version was. I think I did three or four lessons and then stopped.
I got a little addicted to watching QVC overnight while postpartum. I wouldn’t let myself buy anything between midnight and eight a.m., which means I never actually bought anything, thank goodness. But every 3 am, I would be CONVINCED I needed that fabulous bag or kitchenware product, only to realize at 9 am that the purse looked like something someone in a nursing home would own and I hate cooking and would never use a fancy specialty device of some sort.
GemsTV was the other newborn addiction. I absolutely needed a 3-carat tanzanite ring in the middle of the night, only to recall that I barely even wear my engagement and wedding rings.
The clap on lights. I had a bunk bed and slept on the top. Getting into bed in the dark was the single most difficult thing in my life and that light would solve all my problems.
We have adjustable beds (split king) and I hate it as a side sleeper. You’d think it’d be convenient to watch tv or eat in bed, but by the time I’m “up”, it’s moved me so far away from my nightstand that I can’t reach anything. Womp Womp.

FWIW we got these (compression packing bags) for a 2 week Europe trip and they were amazing. Maybe not the same level of satisfaction as king size comforter—-> deck of cards but super practical!

Sucking out the air is very satisfying, they end up kind of lumpy and hard to stack.

I bought a walmart one, put in 6 throw blankets, and took a video of me vacuuming out the air. Agree it's lumpy. I've opened that thing once in 15 years.
I also wanted the food dehydrater. We did get the milkshake stick but didn't use it much.
This thread is making me realize my family has bought a lot of crap from infomercials over the years. We had a flow bee (although this was bought secondhand as a joke), slap chop, space saver bags, the clapper, the chuck norris exercise thing, a thigh master, ginsu knives, a bowflex, shake weight, and I’m sure others.
We have an adjustable base bed and it is amazing. It’s a sleep number, not CraftMatic.
I always wanted the Set it and Forget it rotisserie chicken thing. I was gonna eat so many chickens.
We got a rotisserie as a wedding present from a random generous relative. I remember we laughed so hard because it was sent to the wrong apartment and it was a huge ordeal with the post office. When we finally received it we were like “huh, people really buy those?” and took that puppy back to BB&B (RIP)

Wow you just unlocked a childhood memory for me! I VIVDLY remember those commercials, except for the name.

I think it was called the fasta pasta! We loved that in college 😂
The Flow-bee Would never use it on myself but damn I wanted one.
I started cutting my own hair when everything shut down for covid. My parents hsve asked me more times than I can count if I use a flow-bee like George Clooney. They think they're hilarious. I have no idea what a flow-bee is, but for some reason I picture it as a set of clippers with a vacuum-like attachment that sucks up all the loose hair as you cut.

I JUST bought the vacuum bags this past year after Christmas to help store my holiday decor (blankets and pillows). It really did save room in the number of totes I use to store that stuff, but I guess I will need to report back as to how easy it is to 'refluff' the stuff when it take it out of storage, and how the bags hold up to reuse them again in the coming holidays. But we have a formal living room and a family room and like 5 blankets and about 10 throw pillows for Christmas, plus a few for fall as well, so I figured this was a good use for those since the totes were taking over my garage.
I also wanted the food deyhdrater, mostly for the fruit leather. My bff's family got one growing up, but I only remember them using it one time. The fruit leather they made was delicious, but I do remember it being a long and painful process (as in not simple), and they only did it that one time, so my parents deemed it not worth it, so even though I asked for it a bunch, we never got one and it stuck in my head as not worth it as well.
