I adore DS's teacher. She went out of her way last night at Trunk or Treat so make him comfortable and was just the sweetest. Kindergarten had me terrified, but its reassuring knowing he's in such good hands.
I need to get decorations for his birthday party next weekend. Hopefully Party City isn't a madhouse since its the weekend before Halloween.

I’m getting two inches cut off my hair today and I am beyond ready! There’s a Jamaican restaurant in the same shopping plaza so I always treat myself to a pattie + a Kola Champagne whenever I’m there, so I’m already excited for my lunch.
My only other plans today are early voting for local elections and going to a tavern by me with some friends for dinner. Wearing a costume gets you 30% off, so I’m going to wear all black with either bee or ladybug strap on wings and matching headband antenna.
I watched the Jennifer Lawrence movie “No Hard Feelings” on Netflix last night and was glad I didn’t pay to see it in theaters. It was kind of disjointed and I really wanted to like it, but found it average / bordering on below average.
I’ve got a ghost tour tonight and I’m super excited. Going with an old friend I don’t see enough and probably my H. He is waffling, was a no last night because he was going to go fishing today, but he didn’t. So, 🤷♀️
I had a bit of a falling out with a friend of mine this week. But, I think it’s recovered with a bit of space. So yay!

I was texting with an old friend pretty late last night and sent her a picture of my latest tattoo(s), scissors on the inside of the top of my forearm right by my elbow that start at my brachioplasty scars, and she went radio silent.
I’m choosing to believe that she just fell asleep vs hating the tattoos and practicing “Don’t say anything, if you don’t have anything nice to say”. We’ll see if she texts me back today.
I personally love them and refer to them as my “Cut along the dotted line” art.
We're driving to the Pocono Mountains and the colors around Deleware Water Gap are spectacular. Plans include a great hike, making chili and smores on the fire and a Trunk or Treat!

I like how you’re choosing the favorable interpretation. Plus i drop off mid-convo all the time and sometimes don’t make it back for a few days.

This is why I turn off read receipts in iMessage. I have on friend that leaves them on, so yeah, I know you saw it and didn’t respond.
But also, love the tattoo! I’m currently working up the nerve for two for my scars. I think one will be a sword on the clearer scar. The second, my friend is working up my concept into a design. It’s a clock and a nod to a song lyric that hits me in the feels. (You don’t know when it’s time for you to kiss the clock and finish breathing).

I had such a great time last night at the show. I went on my own, sat in the front row and laughed so hard as well as singing to some 90s music. Then grabbed Turkish on the way back home. My H was out with two high level bosses in his organisations for drinks and didn't get home until late (I asked him to sleep in the guest room). I got a great night's sleep.
Tonight I'm going to be going out with a girl friend for drinks and dinner - we haven't see each other in a long while. It'll be a fun night.
It’s raining which is a wonderful excuse to not walk the dogs first thing lol I got to do a workout instead and now they’re wrestling out their frustration over no walk yet with each other.
H is scheduled to get back from his short trip with friends this afternoon and then I’m going to dinner tonight with two friends, one who is newer (she’s better friends with the other friend), but is really cool so I was flattered she invited me. I did watch her baby the first time she and her husband ever left him so that’s gotta count for something lol
It's 28 degrees here and guess who woke up to a broken furnace? as I'm waiting for one of the 10 calls I have out to call me back, troubleshooting is telling me it's a blown circuit board. I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS RIGHT NOW! uuggghhhh
It is gorgeous today! We went out to Western Maryland for the day, went to a yarn/fiber festival and now I’m sitting outside waiting for my sandwich in the sunshine before we do some walking around.
Tonight is the costumed roast and I’m getting nervous. I wrote jokes that I think are fine, but I’m still going out there wearing nothing but a goddamn towel and some of the jokes are pretty blue and people from my work are going to be there. Lol.
I have no idea what kind of audience we will have. It’s the Saturday before Halloween and there’s a huge football game in the evening so I imagine a lot of people have other things to do. On the other hand, two local papers listed the event as a “recommended” event, so maybe we can get a decent crowd?

OMG good luck! It is so fun that you do this but it also sounds a little terrifying!

We did the opposite. We’re in St. Michael’s for the Oysterfest. H has had some oysters on the half shell, so he’s a happy camper.
I tried to add a Citi card to Apple Pay. It made me call Citi to "verify" the card and they are putting me through some kind of ringer. Including needing to have a second phone available to receive a call on during the call. I have never had this before with adding other cards to Apple Pay. Now I'm on hold for "2 to 3 minutes." What is happening?!
ETA: Then they wanted to discuss "what source do you use to pay your card each month?" Then they wanted the last 6 digits on my (non-citi) checking. I said never mind, that we just won't use the Citi card for Apple Pay. Their loss; I use ApplePay a lot anymore.
ETA2: Joke's on me. They blocked my account for potential fraud and made me call back and now we're going back thru allllllllllll the same questions again.
Waiting on DH to get home from picking DS up from art so we can go apple picking. Why does he have no sense of time? We need to leave like now. And it's 80*, WTH October?

I'd better get a cider slushy and fresh donuts
It's supposed to be 84 today. Not looking forward to spectating DS' soccer game. At least there's shade on the field.
I’m pretty sure I have another pinched nerve in my shoulder, and my arm is killing me. Like, I’m almost in tears. I can’t decide if this is worth a trip to urgent care.

I'm sorry. I know you're up north and all, but... 28 degrees?! It's still October@!
ETA: high temps in my area for the next three days are in the mid 80s... I am not happy 😒
So... I've been on 'vacation' this week, right? And I have cooked four out of the five nights I really thought I would have off. It's great that we're saving money. Love that. Really.
But I just spent an hour cleaning the kitchen. Because H doesn't 'see' things or just decides he's done cleaning and wants to sit back down.
I'm disappointed with myself 😕
Also, I read Atlas Shrugged years ago (before it was cool #hipster lofl), and I've been thinking about it recently. Like... what if I shrugged?
But he did splurge on a very nice new mattress yesterday, so I guess I'll keep him... for now...

It was 33 degrees this morning. We (DS & I) still went to the dog park and had a blast with our park pals.
Now I’m resting/stretching my back while DD makes breakfast. Today we are doing marathon chores so that tomorrow we can chill out and the only thing on our to do list is the pumpkin patch.
DH is taking SS to the 9ers game tomorrow. Since they are leaving tonight, my SD is having a friend spend the night (and I am too!) then going out of town to shop tomorrow.

Nice!! We’ve been to that a few times. Great weather for it!
SwimDeep, it's not just the cooking and cleaning, it's the shopping and buying gifts and making appointments and planning, etc. My husband believed that my SAH duties were equal to his work, and that's good, but it wasn't until I went back to work, and he had SO MUCH MORE responsibility around the house and is now so much more tired all the time, that he really understood how much work housework really is. So yes, you should shrug!
I always thought it was funny that the titans of industry in Atlas Shrugged are hiding away in the Rocky Mountains to get away from all the supposed lazy freeloaders. Who's going to clean your toilets, John Galt? Who is even manufacturing the toilets in the first place? Who is making and mending the clothes, growing the crops, minding the children, etc, etc, etc? It's such bullshit that wealthy people are rugged individuals that could do it all on their own. We can't have a technologically advanced society without everyone doing their part, and every part is important. Otherwise, it's all-day farming to survive and outhouses.
blondemoment123, I go to a plaza with a Party City in it often. It is a madhouse there approaching Halloween. It's the only time of year Party City even extends their hours. But the aisles with the non-Halloween stuff are empty.
Anyway, today is the most beautiful day of fall. It's 76 degrees and the trees are at peak color, which is SO MUCH LATER in the season than usual, but I'll take it. It has been a long, challenging week, so I'm just going to hang out, get tacos for dinner, and enjoy life.
