I’ve had a known case once, during maternity leave earlier this year. I either got it masked at physical therapy or at a 5 person Christmas dinner where people tested negative right before they came over. I had gone nowhere else, neither had my partner and he never tested positive. I think the lack of sleep really weakened my immune system! First time I had been sick in at least 5 years (maybe more).
My cousin is an actor so had to get tested regularly a lot. He’s had it at least 3 times and 2 of those times he was completely asymptomatic, just picked up on their testing. They were confirmed positives with a pcr, but then he was testing negative on rapids within a few days. Vaccines are life saving!
I actually know a few family members, all older that have never had covid or symptoms. That includes my (divorced) parents, my 106 year old grandmother and my aunt and uncle.
Eta: to be more precise in layman’s terms - . The vaccines cause an immune response and part of that immune response is to produce antibodies. B and T lymphocytes are made. The vaccines themselves aren’t giving antibodies, our bodies make antibodies in response.
Yes, it’s been through my house twice, but I’ve only gotten it once.
I had it in June 2022 and gave it to DD2. DD1 had it at Christmas time last year (she got it from XH). They both had it again the week before my surgery in September. As soon as I came home and they said they were not feeling good, I sent them on their way back to XH’s house. He told me the next day they were all positive. Thankfully I did not get it.
My dad has been sick many times, but never tested positive. He’s the only one in my family (parents, siblings, kids) who has not had it.

Don’t know 🤷🏻♀️ Ive never had a positive. Neither have my kids or H. Flu got us last year, but not covid. But some don’t show symptoms and we don’t always home test when someone is ill - just if they have traditional symptoms.
DH and DS both had it earlier this year (about a month apart, so likely separate instances), but I’ve never tested positive despite frequent testing during each timeframe and the fact that I was around DS constantly while he was sick..
I have no idea. My son has definitely had it twice.
My H has had it definitely once. Maybe twice, I can't remember.
If DD or I have had it, we were asymptomatic or had such mild symptoms that it didn't trigger testing. We definitely didn't have it when H and DS did.
Just generally speaking, DS and H always seem more likely to get sick than DD and me. And when we do get sick our symptoms are always more mild than the guys. So I guess COVID has been no different.

4/5 of us have had it exactly once. By then we had had multiple doses of vaccine (January of 2022) so we assume our cases were milder than they might have been, though still bad (I was super dizzy for 10+ days). My son has had it twice. Once when we all had it then again sometime last school year. His cases were super mild both times.
This article says at this point, nearly everyone has antibodies from the vaccine or infection but has numbers specifically for percentage infected. The data are from 2022 and as it is nearly a year later, it seems bound to be much higher.
I haven’t had it yet, despite several close contacts (most notably, my whole family when we had been staying together in a hotel room and my work boyfriend, with whom I had had lunch and drinks at a bar the day before he developed symptoms)

I had it this past June. Dh had it once last year. Ds had an asymptomatic positive 2 school years ago, but never a case where he got sick. And dd has never had it to our knowledge.

My BIL’s mother got off the plane and into a van with our immediate family coughing last June. We all assumed she had tested before she came. 😡 She was there as my sister unexpectedly died. So many people got sick that just attended the visitation.

I had it once, early November 2022. As far we know, H never had it. He tested once with what I think was a defective test. But he never really had symptoms. I only had cold symptoms.
I had a bad cold in November 2021 after spending a week in Vegas. I would have bet money it was covid, but my test came back negative. H wasn’t sick then either.
Once for sure in June 2022. I had the faintest line on a rapid test, but negative PCR. But my MIL brought it into our house (she got it at a funeral), and my H and SIL both tested positive too, so I was being repeatedly exposed over the course of a week. SIL was asymptomatic. H had mild cold symptoms. I ultimately had even milder cold symptoms that I would have thought were allergies if not for known exposure.
My whole household got it in December 2022, our son got it at daycare and gave it to us. We felt fortunate to have avoided it until we were all vaccinated.
I have a few family members who have not gotten it, including my mom (very cautious, minimizes going out still and masks when she does, the riskiest thing she does is visit her grandchildren regularly) and my ILs (not very cautious, but are retired/work from home, so while they are living their lives like it's 2019, they also don't have a ton of exposure).

DD and I have it now for the first time. H had it once previously, and so far hasn’t caught it from me and DD.
I was really starting to think that DD and I had some sort of natural immunity, especially since DD is exposed to everything at school, and we test for any/all symptoms. Nope. I guess we’ve just been lucky up until now.

I've had it once. I was in Germany for work and this was just before they lifted the requirement that you had to have a negative test to fly back to the U.S. Instead I got a positive and was stuck in a hotel room for an extra 10 days. It totally sucked. Luckily, I didn't get very sick.
