Patsy Baloney , did they do a double take or think they were seeing things? I think it's hilarious that you didn't tell them before hand!
No! They were totally chill and excited about it. I think maybe I needed to prep the cat more on the prank. She didn’t play along. She just ran right toward them and started meowing.
H made the fatal mistake of announcing that he was running to the pet food store (all of two blocks from our house, and a place we usually send our teenager to on foot when we need something) because the cats need wet food, and did I want anything else while he was out. Sucker got himself a trip to the liquor store which I'm sure is a circle of hell right now.
I do not feel about about it, though because A: I do this errand all the time, and B: I've been supervising the kids cleaning up before our family arrives tomorrow, and the learned incompetence of these children... Time for us to go back to a chore chart that gets rigorously enforced.

The kids arguing is strong over here too. The lack of follow through and incompetence is astounding. We are trying live civilized people!!!
I mentioned earlier that I was taking my friend's family photos today and was super nervous. OMG they turned out sooo good, I am actually pretty proud of myself. and these are only the raw files, I haven't even started tweaking with the colors and stuff.
Oh man, I just drew the second hardest person (for me) to buy for in the IL Secret Santa. Our 20 year old nephew. He's super smart, plays soccer at an engineering school. I have no idea what to buy him within a $75 limit. The only person worse to buy for is his dad who has zero hobbies and is generally cranky all the time lol
Buy cheap box of #10 envelopes.
Put $75 in one of the envelopes.
Wrap box of envelopes.
I would put dollar bills in each envelope to total $75. LOL
I went to Whole Foods, Target, and Costco today and the crowds were much better than I was expecting, especially Costco! I grabbed a fresh pumpkin pie, wine and a couple other things and didn’t even have to wait in line. Lots of people with similar (pie and wine) carts, lol
Somehow, I don't have the ingredients for the one thing DS always makes at Thanksgiving, a corn pudding that my dad liked and DS doesn't eat, lol. My mom is going to drop some by on her way to my brother's, but I have 10 cans of garbanzo beans and no canned corn!
My house is chaotic in the best possible way. DH is giving DS a haircut (he use to be a barber). I needed a fridge clean out, and SD volunteered. I’m making the chocolate chip bars that are tomorrow’s dessert.
Fingers crossed that FIL feels better tomorrow. We know he will be in the hospital until at least Friday but hoping for a good day so we can visit in the morning and still enjoy dinner with our extended family. Good thoughts welcomed!
