I won tickets to Universal Studios in a Harry Potter trivia contest, we leave 2/29. I bought our plane tickets last night. I already had a Disney trip deposit down for late fall, but with the new promos the travel agent said I could save $900 if I shift my trip by 2 days so we did.
Now SIL wants to do a girl's cruise next May. I'm really excited for all this travel, we didn't go anywhere for a very long time and I'm having so much fun planning all the things!

It’s raining here. I ran out to see if I could find clear bins for our closet and think I found some at Homegoods. I also scored some caramel coffee syrup on clearance for $3!
No other plans for now. Not the best weather. I may try to do more organizing upstairs.

I am not a nervous flyer, but the alaska airlines incident yesterday makes me a bit nervous. H is flying to Portland tomorrow from San Diego on the same type of plane.
And A (9) is flying as an unaccompanied minor on the same type of plane home from hawaii on Monday. 🤦♀️🤦♀️
This next week should be the safest ever though right? Since they are going through all of these extra inspections?
H has spent the last 3 days at the snowmobile shop getting the groomer ready to groom trails. I spent the last two days cleaning out our deep freezers and the freezer in the house.
No plans today...I have the store open because we are expecting new phones that are coming via USPS and they require a signature. We switched cell service and our old phones need wifi calling capabilities in order to text over wifi since we don't have cell service here so we had to order new ones to be able to text.
Ds spent most of his break with the grandparents so my ils are bringing him home today. Supercross racing also starts today so we'll watch the race tonight.
We revamped our chicken coop earlier this week and I don't like it, so we need to change it again. It's supposed to be cold and snowy for the foreseeable future though so not sure when we'll get that done.
Ice pellets have been falling from the sky all morning but we will see if that changes to rain or snow? It’s a little warm to amount to much.
The neighborhood is super quiet! It’s almost eerie. I know I don’t want to go out in this but I guess no one else does either. We already made fried chicken so today has been a success anyway!

I’d also prepare yourself for the possibility that the inspections will uncover a larger problem and all of those types of planes will be grounded (or the airlines will voluntarily ground them), which could cause big delays as they scramble to get other aircraft in place.
OMG. H is out of town for the weekend, so of course it snows, and I have to shovel to get to an early morning show. The show was fine, but I came home to find my dog had trapped herself in my bedroom, and there was a poop apocalypse.
Apparently, she had panic diarrhea, and then paced back-and-forth, tracking it all over the bedroom. After I clean up the bedroom, gagging the entire time, I had to soak my poor dogs feet in a shallow bath to get all of the shit she had matted into the pads of her feet out.

Also, I finally got leg bands for my chickens so I can tell them apart (they are all the same breed and look identical) so I'm trying to think of names for them. So far oldest kid wants to name one Felix and I have one particular one that is stubborn so I'm going to name her Donkey. lol. Crazy chicken lady checking in!

They have just grounded all 737 Max 9s.
I just checked and the airline I’m flying with this week doesn’t use Max 9s. It looks like the only US carriers that do are United and Alaska. Hopefully it won’t be as chaotic as when they grounded the Max 8.

Another crazy chicken lady checking in. Ours are named: Luna, Poppy, Nut, Ma'at, Lavender, Barbie, Skipper, Bucephalus, Ferri, Maisie Peepers and Muffin. Luckily they all look very different from each other.
I'm at the laundromat because our washer died. It's $5 a load just to wash, talk about inflation. It's kind of relaxing though, and nice to do three loads all at once.
beerlover go old school bread bags tied over shoes!
I ended up getting a decent pair of nautica boys snow boots for $27. I sized up one so hopefully he can wear for a few years! We already took them for a test run and some shoveling
Does anyone else think that businesses are a lot quicker to close for snow nowadays? I feel like it was rare for anything to close when I was growing up in the 90s/early 2000s.
Don’t get me wrong- I’m glad about that and I don’t want anyone to risk their lives. However, we were talking about walking somewhere to eat later and a few places seem to be open (owners and employees live close), I don’t know if that makes me an asshole for going when weather is bad, or a good person for supporting a business on a slow day, lol.

Yeah they have them grounded to do safety inspections and have already cleared 1/4 of them. We shall see.

It's warm and muggy outside, bleh.
We made good progress on the upstairs at parents house. Really all is left is to paint and move my things in. Side note: Movers are ridiculously expensive.
Well, I hosted my party last night. First one I’ve thrown in years, for a multitude of reasons. No one used the master bathroom! But, it ended up being smaller than planned because all the spouses bailed. Including the one living in my house. He had a migraine and didn’t even rally to come say hi. I finally finished the dishes and I’m pooped.

If you like roller coasters the Jurassic Park Velocicoaster is amazing. We were there in November and it was amazing. Its rights next to the Potter Forbidden Journey ride. Highly recommend. Have fun!
I haven't been on it yet. We went in 2022, and DS was too scared and I was totally happy to just hang out with him in the HP section. He's thinking about trying it this time so we will see! It's been a LONG TIME since I went on an upside down roller coaster, I'm a little scared 😬

I generally love roller coasters, and Velocicoaster was extremely intense. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you specifically enjoy intense experiences.

Agreed. It’s a great coaster, but if you are not a fan of intense or upside down I would probably skip it. Plenty of of other great rides there. Have fun!
I scared half to death lol. I need to find a time to come out and tell H.
I have talking points ready. I talked to a realtor about selling the house. I'm trying to draft a parenting plan, which is hard due to his work schedule. I'm doing as much leg work as I can to make it as simple as possible for him.
