Lesson learned: buy all my winter stuff before January. Never mind that winter lasts into March and we've gotten snow in April too.
It's the beginning of summer here, most people take vacation in Feb, and school doesn't start until March, but I had the hardest time finding a swim shirt for L last week! All the swim stuff was on clearance at 4 department stores, and I finally found him one that's at least a full size too big but works ok. Every store was taken over by back to school - it was so strange to me.
I don't fell well (negative covid test, but scratchy throat, sniffly, and headachy) and so instead of doing my usual Sunday yoga, I've consumed a ridiculous amount of peppermint tea, and we're watching football. I'm cracking up at all the cuts to Taylor Swift (and the little heart Kelce just made to her after his touch down just now).
But I have managed to meal plan out until Wednesday and I've picked things that have my H cooking just about everything for those meals, so I'm feeling accomplished.
My friend (the jerk lol) has been working with me on not being a constant self deprecating gen-xer. And on that note…
The tournament I mentioned on lake 1 - I took 6th place! I had a goal to finish pools with a single digit indicator, which I did! And, I read up on nutrition last week, and did a proper carb load and recovery, so I didn’t hit my stamina wall like usual. Also, this was a new style for me, which I started 3 months ago. My typical style, the one I did in college, has been really frustrating me, and I think it’s all mind games with myself - knowing what I use to do and not being able t o do it anymore. So, starting something new, and doing respectively today, just has me on cloud 9.
Also, I need to remember to take Advil as soon as it’s over. Lol

I am flying for work this spring for the first time ever. I don’t own a carryon suitcase. Amazon reviews are making my head hurt. I suck at adulting sometimes.
I have had a headache all weekend and we had so much family stuff to do. Now I’m just sitting and reading and ignoring all my chores and praying I’m not sick tomorrow. It’s feeling like I’m trying to fight something off.
arehopsveggies if you never ever fly, maybe you could just borrow one from a friend. I’d be happy to lend if a friend asked me and maybe you could do that and save the money and decision effort.

Don’t make yourself crazy over it. I bought my last one at TJ Maxx, I’ve flown with it dozen of times including all over Greece. It’s not fancy. I’d order one that has lots of stars in your price range or head to TJ Maxx.

Back when I traveled all the time, my suitcases were Delsey, bought at TJ Max. I still have them, and it’s been 15 years since I had the traveling job.
Also, support borrowing one if it’s a one-off trip. I’ve loaned my carry on to friends before.
I bought these amazing fleece lined leggings for $15 at lands end late last month. I went back to buy more and they are on back order and $50 for only 2 of the 7 colors. The other colors aren't for sale at all anymore. No thanks. Hopefully they sell them again next winter... even though this winter season isn't over so it's weird they are out and don't seem to be restocking. Le sigh. Lesson learned: buy all my winter stuff before January. Never mind that winter lasts into March and we've gotten snow in April too.
They aren’t $15, but I love these fleece lined leggings and think they are reasonably priced for how warm they are

It stays fully hot here through September, really October, yet summer stuff will be clearanced out by early July and replaced with back to school clothes meant for fall. I refuse to let DD buy any of them, we take note and I wait until those go on clearance. We still have them before it's actually not way too hot to wear them. It's so annoying. By the time she was 3, I'd learned to buy the next size up in shorts by mid-June so that she'd have bottoms to wear when she inevitably grew before shorts season ended.

I had an amazing time on Saturday. Went to a fancy hotel in London for afternoon tea followed by a spa day, including a sports massage and a facial. Then met my H for dinner and drinks at the same hotel. It was my birthday present and I really enjoyed it. By the way, if you ever get offered English sparking wine, drink it - it's really, really good!

School gets out in June in WA state. Some places it's the middle-end of June. By the beginning of July the stores are taken over by back to school. It's late August-early September before we head back to school. So I get that.
