Received my new Covid tests yesterday afternoon-negative yesterday and negative again this morning. I did clear with my manager last night that it was ok to WFH today in case I still had symptoms (we are all hybrid and everyone goes in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays).
I do feel a lot better so whatever I have seems to be getting better.
I was so sad because I went away to Portland Maine again last weekend and had another fabulous time! Then we all got home and bff that I shared a hotel room with got Covid. š·
Anyways I had a WONDERFUL time. Portland is becoming my new favorite getaway. I love taking the Amtrak Downeaster-so easy and convenient. I love all the cool shops and museums and restaurants and dispensaries!
I had fries from Duckfat two days in a row. I saw Dinosaur Jr live! J Mascis is still rocking the silver wolf look and my beloved Lou Barlow is leaning into the old mountain man look.
It's my bday! Kind of a regular day around here but I did get a fancy coffee drink this morning and took a half day in the PM to go get a pedicure and just be lazy around the house. H is at a conference until tomorrow afternoon. DS has basketball practice tonight, so I'll probably just get us some takeout subs afterward instead of cooking, and I promised him we'd go get ice cream.
We got home from Austin last night and I'm dragging today. I did sleep like a rock though. I just went through my inbox and deleted a bunch of things I didn't need and marked other emails to follow up on. I need to figure out a dinner plan, for tonight at least, so I can get an Aldi order completed for pickup later when I get DS from school. There is also about 12 loads of laundry to catch up on.
Austin was a blast though and it was so nice to walk around in jeans and tshirts all weekend. This morning my car was completely covered in ice/frost. But the sun is shining, so that is a plus.
DS and I went to a high school/freshman year info session last night. I can't believe he will be starting HS next school year.
I got a letter in the mail yesterday regarding a class action lawsuit I joined a few years ago. My award amount was $0.01, lol. The letter indicated that for any award amounts less than $10, the money was donated to a non-profit health clinic. It's fine, I can manage without that penny, ha ha.
Also, I had my work anniversary (4 years) this past Saturday. The only exciting thing about it is now I qualify for 2 more weeks of pay in the event that I am ever severanced. (Two weeks of severance pay are provided for each year of service, based on my current pay grade.)

Iām used to booking trips 1-2 months in advance but this is a first to book only a week in advance. Iām surprising my partner with a trip to New Orleans next week for his birthday and just booked yesterday. Weāve both been several times, but never together and I thought itād be an easy trip with a toddler since we wonāt have to rent a car. I found a hotel with a suite that has a separate sitting area with a door so that works out well!
Only slight problem is since got flight so late no 2 seats together on flight there, only a window and middle seat in rows behind each other so I booked those. Itās only about a 3 hour flight so Iām thinking 1 of us will hold daughter on lap for 1.5 hours and then switch. The main thing Iām worried about is sheās getting longer that breastfeeding in the seat sheāll likely kick the person next to me :/ But hopefully I can wrangle her legs in haha.
I'm dreading V-Day coming up and trying to think of something that I can do by myself. It was never a holiday I cared that much about in the past, but it is my wedding anniversary and would've been 10 years. He has completely moved on. It's only been 3 months since he was asked to leave and he's already living with his girlfriend and I'm not even dating. The man who begged me through the entire divorce process to reconsider doesn't exist any more and part of me is sad. A part of me still loves him, but he was an absolutely terrible person.

Happy birthday beerlover,! Did you end up doing something fun last weekend, or can you this coming weekend?
lilafowler, I LOOOOVE Dinosaur Jr and Portland, ME, lol. I saw J. Mascis as a surprise guest at a Buffalo Tom show pre-COVID and it was one of the best nights of my life. I need to listen to J's new album, and I think BT and J did a new song together too, yeah!
A true random, a guy who went to my college for a while moved out to (real) Western, MA and allegedly roomed J Mascis' dog. Apparently you could walk around the grocery store and see J rocking out with huge head phones before everyone was doing that. #coolstorybruh
I did some work with an acquaintance and she sends me checks with my share of the profits. One time the check she sent was written in purple magic marker and the bank had to make an exception to deposit it since it bled through the back.
I asked if she could try to use blue/black ink instead and ever since sheās been using a manual typewriter to write them out. Which seems extreme and pointed but works!
But really, marker? Sheās in her 40s so Iād think sheād know how to write a check.
@@@ lilafowler, litskispeciality, I'm going to Portland, ME this weekend for a quick weekend trip! We're taking our kids the Children's Museum and Theater for a show and then play. Any recs for kid friendly restaurants? I've heard Portland is so fun and I'm excited to try it out as a weekend getaway.

Go to the international cryptozoology museum! Itās right next door to the childrenās museum. Itās quick but a lot of kitschy fun.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

I donāt know about specific kid friendly restaurants but most places seem pretty family friendly and casual. There are so many cute places! Go to Holy Donut and get a fresh one. Amazing
The smoke alarm in my bedroom went off at 2:50am (low battery). I finally went back to sleep around 5am. I'm already dealing with covid exhaustion so I need coffee on top of my coffee today.

The parent who freaked out on me about GS cookies and sent her parent in to try to steamroll me at our troop booth and give her all of our remaining stock sent me an email thanking me for all of my support?
I can only assume she was visited by 3 ghosts overnight.
I seem to have lost my case for my bluetooth ear buds, and it's making me insane how quiet it is here today! My H is home and working the same room as me so I can't really listen to stuff out loud right now. I ordered a new set off of Amazon that should be delivered tomorrow, at least. I hope the case shows up at some point - I have the actual ear buds, but they are useless without the charging case. I can't imagine where it ended up though - I've done enough cleaning/laundry since I misplaced it that it should have turned up. I am wondering if I dropped it outside or if it somehow fell into something that got thrown away.
I hope the new ones are ok - they cost much less than the ones I lost, which is great for replacement but makes me think they are lower quality.
jane6672, those sure are something! I am laughing at the contrast between the weird babydoll pink dress and the white haired lady wearing a cat sweatshirt. And those prices!
Happy birthday beerlover ,! Did you end up doing something fun last weekend, or can you this coming weekend?
Thanks! I still went out for dinner and drinks with a couple friends while H stayed home. My mom has offered to stay at our place and watch DS this weekend if H and I want, for the two of us to go out, so we may take her up on that, or maybe another weekend.

This is the absolute worst! Happened to us at 3am last weekend. Of course H never hears it, so I'm the one going to the basement, getting the ladder, changing the batteries, and then I need to drug myself back to sleep because I'm all keyed up.

jane6672 those dresses are a big deal in the plus size Disney adult community! Women living their princess dreams, and I am so happy for them. Iāve seen so many beautiful pictures of folks in the parks with these on.
But they definitely donāt seem like, āIām heading to the grocery store - anybody need anything?ā dresses.
It looks like DD's school will be closing at the end of the year, it's falling down around them so this is really the best decision, but I'm still a little sad. The city currently has 3 prek-6 elementary schools, 2 are in varying stages of disrepair and one newly renovated. We are working with the state to build a new one and will move to 2 elementary schools broken down by grade level instead of neighborhood. They decided to close her school now because the boiler is barely hanging on, last year there were several days where the school or classes had no heat, they will split by grade level starting in the fall. She'll get to go back to her old school, which is the newly renovated one, but she won't be able to walk or ride her bike anymore. She had finally adjusted to this school and now she has to readjust all over for her final year of elementary school.

I had a low blood sugar late last night and then I woke up at least every hour to check it and make sure it was fine, even though I have an alarm that will go off if it's not. I'm tired.
I think the dresses are fabulous. No idea where I'd ever where one.
The parent who freaked out on me about GS cookies and sent her parent in to try to steamroll me at our troop booth and give her all of our remaining stock sent me an email thanking me for all of my support?
I can only assume she was visited by 3 ghosts overnight.
Maybe she has her own board and they roasted her.
Or maybe she is here and recognized herselfā¦.can I be the ghost of cookie booths past?!
MH just tested + for covid. Of course this week when we have three fun events (including a show I bought tix to a year ago) and not next when we have nothing planned. *siiiiigh
Ugh, so sorry glw. Obviously as I posted about, my H was sick this weekend when we had a bunch of plans. Impeccable timing of these men! I know it wasn't his fault but it was hard not being mad.
