My H and I talked about is mental health last night and the night before. He has two consultations with therapists set up for next week. I'm SO glad.
PDQ
My supervisor is observing one of my reading groups today to problem solve behaviors with me. I hope she has some creative solutions because I am tapped out.
Spring break starts tomorrow and I have no plans for the kids. We were going to FL to see family but my aunt needs surgery so that got cancelled. I've got medieval times and a trip to the ren faire but need to come up with some other ideas so it's not 9 days of screens 😂

I have to be in a meeting from 10-1 today. I also have developed what I believe to be a stye on my eye and my eyelid is red and swollen. Because of that, I didn't wear mascara so now I also look dead. Happy Thursday!
Is it a full moon? The middle school drama this week has been next level. So glad next week is spring break and DD gets a break from the insanity. Though a big part of her really does like some of it…especially the boy gossip, lol.
10 weeks of school after that so that means it’s basically summer already. Not ready.
When I go into the office, I get Starbucks as my little treat to make it less terrible. We have these thank you points at work so I’ve been using them to pay for it so it’s a nice little, “free to me” thing. Anyway, they messed up my order today for the first time and I’m sad lol
I bring my own cup and when he handed it back to me I could see it was just coffee and no cold foam so I was like “Oh it doesn’t have the cream on top” and he took it back and seemed confused and then when he gave it back to me it was lighter, but clearly not what I ordered, but I couldn’t make myself hand it back again so I just left. That’s on me, but it’s still a bummer.

L has been asking to go see Olivia Rodrigo, but I keep telling her it's too much. My bff who has a daughter the same age and I just planned a trip for the four of us to go to Seattle to see her. We booked hotels and I got the concert tickets last night. L is going to lose her mind, and I think I got decent tickets for way cheaper than it would have been here. I'm so excited.

I guess my daughter is going to be the next Dr pimple popper! She has now taken to picking at my 1 or 2 pimples while breastfeeding lol. She usually plays with my bra strap, hair, glasses or mouth but the pimple thing is new. Breastfeeding a toddler is a wild ride!

So glad I listened to the board and didn't drop my auto coverage to liability only. My daughter crashed my car over the weekend and it's in the shop now getting repairs. The estimated cost is nearly $6k, so yeah, I would've been pretty screwed if I had to pay that.
My divorce has been finalized since 1/8 and I STILL haven't received the certified copy of my decree which I need to change my name. I really don't want to take out my new mortgage in my married name, so I'm hopeful that the piece of mail from attorney's office that I saw is being delivered today is my decree so I can finally start the process. Of course, it's been 10 years since I changed my name, and I have no idea what to do first, do I change my social or my drivers license first?
Spring break also starts for us next week. We usually take this week to do an international trip since it's cheap and not crowded, but I don't want to throw that on David anymore since these last few months of school are so intense. So, H is still taking the week off and we're doing family time. We'll do some hiking, movies, David's of course spending some time with friends and I made reservations for me and H to drink margaritas on the patio early next week since the weather will be nice.
I'm involved in a major drama with my elderly neighbor who is getting fleeced out of $100k by scamming Tinkers. She asked them to fix a small leak in her basement and was originally quoted $1200 and they've convinced her her foundation is crumbling and needs to be fixed. This is a known scam around here and she won't listen to me. I looped in her out of town daughter and we have the police, AG, and local elder services involved but they can't do anything about it at this point. She's already given them $58k (!!!) and they've dug up her entire driveway and foundation. Its such a mess and I kind of regret getting involved.
I was watering plants this morning and noticed how much my little trashy bargain bin flapjack kalanchoe has colored up in the past ~2 months. I think it took about a month to dry out (they really do not like wet feet), but a little neglect and a whole bunch of sunshine and it's safe to say it's going to be okay.
DD had such a great time on shadow day at the HS yesterday, and I'm excited to have them in the same school again (for a year).

I haven't read the responses yet.
I've earned another adult badge...buying a new laundry basket. I had to buy a laundry bag for my brother's clothes to transport and went down the rabbit hole for myself. I found a mesh stand up hamper (I guess) that has three slots so you can sort laundry however you please. I feel heard for sorting my laundry by colors so it's easier to grab and wash as I've had some comments that it's "weird".
I'm also kind of mad at myself because many years ago my mom bought a few of these stand up mesh laundry bag/hampers whatever from the Dollar Store. They were nice, fold and have straps to carry say in and out of the mat, or down flights of stairs. I thought they were kind of silly and only used a couple until they broke. Now I'm paying like $12 for one. Once again listen to your mother (if you can.)
Hoping to finally have my year end review today to find out if I'll get any bonus and/or increase, and if so how much. Come on 3 - 5%, and actually pay me this month, not literally 3 years from now! Then taking my dad to an apt and it's raining (again) so it's going to be a very looong day.

Oh here's a true random...why is it that radio replays of TLC's "Waterfalls" still have some versions where Lisa's wrap (I seen a rainbow yest-er-day) is cut out?
I'm mentally hanging stuff on my new office walls to figure out where to put things, but then I remember that if I take them out of my home office, I have to get around to ordering frames for the replacements. And then my brain shorts out.
How is it only Thursday? I feel like it's been Thursday all week.

One of my kid's teachers is leaving for a new job. Fine but I feel like the school has handled this terribly. First, they told the kids at the end of the day on a Friday. Parents got an email at the same time so many had not seen it when they were picking up their kids. All 46 5th graders came out sobbing. One parent thought someone was dead.
They are replacing the teacher with a sub every kid in the school dislikes. That's not an exaggeration. My own kid, a straight A student, has told me this woman makes her feel stupid so she simply will not raise her hand when she's in the classroom anymore. When I emailed about this, the answer was that she's who they are going with until the end of the year.
They've dragged out the teacher leaving for a month. Everyday, the kids show up to more stuff missing from the classroom. Then the other 5th grade teacher emailed me to ask me to switch the Easter party, on the last day before spring break, to a goodbye party. When I pointed out that the kids are devastated and this was something happening to them and not a cause for celebration in their minds, this teacher told me I was living in a bubble and everyone should be happy for the teacher leaving. I told her if she's so happy, she should host a staff party but I'd be planning an Easter party.

I never got my divorce decree in the mail and had to go to the courthouse to obtain a copy. The nice lady at the desk didn't charge me for the copy, which she should have. Start by changing your social, then license (wait until the following day).
I have ONE bill left in my married name and I hate it. I would have to go in person to update it and it just isn't worth it.

sproctopus, you are the coolest mom! Your son is so handsome. So glad to see him so big and healthy <3
On the 90's throw back, now I started to listen to Jewel's "Pieces of Me" and forgot how much "You Were Meant For Me" hit my soul at 14. Obviously I had that kind of love by then...lol

I couldn't find them at any of our dollar tree before our cruise. I don't think they make them that cheap anymore.
I ended up with one from walmart that I think was less than $5.
My laundry room is literally 8 steps from my WFH desk. I have to walk by it to get to the kitchen. Laundry is a perfect WFH household task. So, why is there a load in the dryer and two piles sorted for washing on the floor?!

Because laundry is the worst? The act of washing and drying aren't so bad, IMO. Folding and putting away? Miserable.
