My family got on the plane, but standby didn't come through with me. I'm so bummed! I feel like I'd be able to make the best of it if my dog was here, but she's being boarded and I can't pick her up until tomorrow at 5.
I was zesting a lemon to make dinner last night and got my thumbnail pretty good. It is split too far down to just cut the broken part, so I am guessing I will need to keep a band aid on it for a long time to avoid constantly snagging it. I am so annoyed since it is on my dominant hand and basically everything requires using your thumb, including typing on a phone.
Today I have to go to Costco and my H and I are going to play a board game (which he is far more into than me so I am not super excited about that part haha). I need to do a few academic related work things this weekend too.
They make a nail glue for this situation. DS split his mail during the winter. We did the nail glue and bandaid for a few days and then just the nail glue. We used this one
It’s sunny but blustery today. Went and voted early, ordered some prescription sunglasses (decided I need to have some after not being able to wear contacts for a week+ due to an infected ulcer on my cornea - 0/10 do not recommend that by the way), walked around my favorite nursery that just opened for the year and had lunch at a brewery.
Now I’m hoping to book lodgings for our summer trip to CO. Doing Breck, Aspen/Snowmass and Crested Butte.
Drove 45 min to another town with better shopping (we have nothing but Walmart basically). Took DS to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. He had nuggets and a side of white rice, lol. I had a yummy lunch special of clear soup, shrimp teriyaki, white rice, and a few pieces of sushi. Got him a baseball helmet for the year, plus gloves and a pair of pants. We're going to wait on bats until he tries some out, and he already has a glove. Yeesh, this shit is expensive. We perused Target afterward and got a Starbucks before heading home.
Random - I was wearing a pair of skinny jeans from Loft circa 2017ish. I picked skinny jeans so I could tuck them into my rain boots. After having bought and worn a few pairs of "mom jeans" this year which are much higher rise, I found myself SO uncomfortable today in the old, lower rise skinny jeans. I felt like I kept hiking them up all day and that when I sat down, they were exposing too much of my lower back. I can't believe I used to enjoy these. Higher rise for life from now on, whether the pant is skinny or not. Now I want to replace all my old pants, haha.

My best friend and roommate from college owns a bar and restaurant in Crested Butte! Tullys 😁
Someone posted in a local Facebook group asking for non judgemental advice to help their overweight teen without causing shame or encouraging disordered eating.
Someone dead ass responded that what worked for them was telling their child that "being fat is beneath them" and having them report each night on their daily food choices.

As a rosacea person, the things that helped the most - ongoing niacinamide and SPF of 50 regularly. I still get red with alcohol, heat and spice, but otherwise, seem to be doing better with the above.
I'm having a break from having my H's friend and her son over for the night. She's lovely as is he, but my social battery needs a break every so often. We've had a fabulous dinner with a lot of wine and we'll be having cheese for dessert in a bit with some port, which I'm looking forward to. I'll definitely be relaxing and doing barely anything tomorrow after they go.

Thank you and nsl! I will try the nail polish since I have it on hand, and if that doesn't work I guess a trip to Ulta! I hadn't thought of trying to fix it but makes total sense.
I had tickets to see my favorite singer tonight. He is a super nice, local-ish artist. But, it was about 90 minutes away, and it’s pouring rain with no look of letting up. And I wasn’t feeling driving in the rain. At night. And I am getting new tires Wednesday. So, we decided not to go. I posted the tickets on or local music FB group and they were gone in 5 minutes. Not bad since the show started in 90 minutes lol
And I told H I was going to be pouty tonight. He is making dressed up sweet potato fries (I think bacon and cheddar) so we can pretend we are eating crappy bar food. Lol

I pulled out some boot cut jeans from I don’t know when. But had the same feeling with the low rise.

Does anyone tweeze their pubic hair. It's something you can do of an evening by the fire.
I met our old friend flex last week, she is lovely and when she re-retires in a couple of years I think she should be a mod again because you people are annoying and I need a buffer.
I got back from errands with DD. I got a skin tightening cream and put it under my eyes. I am really liking the results! I didn’t try makeup on it yet, but I might do that tomorrow.
Side note - the instructions say to not make any facial expressions for 5 minutes. LMAO I can do do all day without a facial expression!! Haha
I just placed an order for a nerd dress (like cosplay stuff). At checkout, it asked if I wanted to tip. Tipping culture has gone too far! This wasn’t even custom sized to my measures or anything.

No offense.
I do not. It never occurred to me.
I also rarely tweeze my brows and think generally getting rid of body hair is stupid. My armpit hair is braid length most days despite the fact I haven't seen below 80 in a year.
You don't want to ask me for normal.
Tweezing pubic hair is a new one, and I'd say stupid and crazy

None taken!
I don't tweeze by the fire because I have concerns about properly opening the flue of my fireplace.

Agree, you are the very weirdest poster we have, by some distance.

I’ve noticed a lot of shopping software/apps have removed the option for NOT asking for a tip at checkout especially if you are not paying for the premium level.
This has been the bane of my existence as my guild debates having a sale. I cannot find one that is both affordable and will let us not ask for a tip. I think we will end up not having a sale at all because of this.

Could you place a note somewhere visible during check out? I feel like I would note (in a positive way) if someone's tablet made a note to ignore the tip section when filling out a Square or some other system. I don't know an eloquent way to say it but "Square requires a tipping option, please enter 0 or press the green arrow" or something

I’m a bit 🤔 at the pube tweezing and flex mentioning in the same post 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

We talked about the state of our flues, it's a common topic when you get to be our age.

That was my suggestion but some of the members are very against it being an option at all and are causing a fuss. I don’t think they quite get why I can’t just turn it off so we’ve been going in circles. I’ve finally said they have to accept the sign or not have a sale. They have until Sunday to decide!
Since my family all made it on the flight to visit Grandma and I didn't, I'm spending my day doing things I enjoy doing alone. So far I've gone on a long hike and I'm at the sushi bar.
