I’m up way earlier than I would like to get DS1 off to the SAT. I’m nervous mainly because it’s one of the first digital ones they are administering and I feel like so much can go wrong with Wi-Fi, personal computers, whatever. Ugh.
Good luck to your son! H had to be ip and out early to help coach a hockey clinic so I got up and had coffee. Now I’m back in bed scrolling the internet. Would love to get another hour of sleep but don’t think that will happen. No real plans today beyond dropping my niece’s birthday gift at her house, returning a few things at the mall and working out.
First day of spring break and I’ve got Covid. 😩 I was really hoping to be one of those people who never got it. And I’m so annoyed to waste spring break being sick. We weren't going to be traveling, but still. And now it will definitely be 9 days of screens for the boys. Ugh.
C is supposed to have two soccer games an hour away, but it’s supposed to be rainy and stormy all day. His coach indicated yesterday that the games would still happen, but I’m crossing my fingers that they cancel BEFORE we get in the car and start driving.
If the games are canceled, then we have no other plans today, which would be glorious.
We have a birthday party today and another day of rain. I am so over the rain.
I need to wrap up laundry and get everything together for my trip tomorrow.
I also need to talk to my mom about our airfare to Orlando. It gets worse and worse price wise. I need everyone’s precheck info and frequent flier numbers.
I was really hoping that the weather report was going to be wrong! We are taking a 4-hr fiber arts class in another city and wanted to make a day of it because it’s in a cute little downtown area but I think it’s going to be too rainy and gross. I spent too many years walking and/or waiting for buses in the rain to make myself do that now for fun lol
We're at the airport trying to catch the most annoying flight to see MH's grandma and aunt. The flights keep on getting delayed and I am out of patience. It's just hard when you have a low ratio of family time to travel time and it keeps on getting smaller.
I woke up yesterday with my right eye lightly bloodshot. No pain, itching, watering, crusting (shudder) or anything. I do feel more…aware? of that eye if that makes sense? Anyway, it didn’t get any better or worse yesterday or overnight. I’m having a lot of anxiety over it, but it’s the weekend and I’m sure not worth an urgent care appointment and I don’t want to pay for that anyway.

I use my insurance's telehealth for suspected pink eye. Take a quick photo or 2, a 5 min phone call and antibiotics drops prescribed.
devonpow, I'm nervous about the SAT too. I'm a counselor for an online school and we don't offer the SATs (since no buildings) so our kids have to test at their home school district or another one that they choose. I have no control over any of it. I don't even typically know who is testing in a given month unless they tell me or have a question. I tried to communicate to my kids about the digital changes but no one reads my emails or listens to me, lol. I'm just afraid someone that I don't know about is showing up unprepared to testing and I'll hear about it Monday, lol.

Update: Not canceled. At least they’re playing on turf. We’re gonna get absolutely soaked.
It's supposed to rain like an inch today, so I'll be running to the basement every few hours to be sure the sump pump is functioning. Anxiety is fun. It's occasionally gotten stuck and stopped running before though, so I have good reason to be concerned.
Not sure what we are going to do. One of the days this weekend, we need to go shopping for a new baseball helmet for DS, so we'll probably drive to another town 45 min away to go to Dicks Sporting Goods and get lunch or dinner or whatever. We might watch the UNC/Duke game tonight at a friend's.
Crazy busy weekend. Yesterday, we saw a friend perform in a musical. Today is ds's basketball game, dd has a sleepover bday party to go to, and date night with friends for dinner and a comedy show. Tomorrow, dh and i are going to see dune 2 and will leave the kids home together...we'll see how that goes!
Laundry, groceries, and tons of exercise for the border collie also need to happen sometime.
Currently, laying in bed with a heated blanket and a dog on my lap.

Most pink eye clears up on its own. The only time I've ever been treated is if it was goopy or crusty.
It was raining here. It's supposed to be cloudy today, but hopefully we can dry out some. We've had nearly 4" of rain in some areas this week. I am meeting a friend for coffee later, and I'll swing by the grocery store. No other plans.
It's pouring here too, but its fine since we didn't have any plans except grocery shopping and getting DS a haircut.
I need a new moisturizer. My trusty Clinique Moisture Surge isn't cutting it lately. Any recs?
I use Moisture Surge on my face every night, but I layer it over Clinique redness correction night cream (I started getting redness in my face as I got older, this stuff is amazing with correcting it!). I'd layer the Moisture Surge over another face cream. Also, I don't wash my face in the morning, just rinse and then reapply more moisturizer. Also, are you using a gentle, non-drying face cleanser? My skin became a desert around 38-42 so I've been dealing with this for awhile. Oh, and stay hydrated, of course.

I assumed tickets for the WBB big ten tournament would be super $$$$. Good section tickets are 500$ but general admission is 50$ so we bought tickets to see the finals tomorrow! MN people, check it out if you want to see the best BB player ever play!
Reading about all these kids games and weather stuff make me glad for individual sports lol. I have a couple buddies going to a tournament about 45 minutes away today. And I said I’d consider it. Dog kept me up too late last night with belly issues, and it’s raining. And I noped out. Not like it’s a team that needs me.
But I am driving to VA to see a singer I love tonight, and dune tomorrow. Maybe taxes Witt my now free morning and afternoon?
I’m in full midlife crisis mode lately, and made an appointment to get a couple piercings done next week on my day off. I think I’m going to do a mid-helix and my cartilage flat. I already have 3 lobes and high helix, but suddenly it’s like I have a need to get more, so we’ll see how it goes. I want to do it today, but I don’t have time. I’m excited (and scared!). I got a lash lift done a few weeks ago (obsessed), and I think I’m going to do the laser thing to get rid of skin redness next. I don’t know what gotten into me, but like I said, I think it’s a midlife crisis.

This redness correction… is it a color correction or actually helping stop the redness? I’ve got minor rosecea, and while I love the cream my derm gives me, it’s hell expensive prescription. So I just make do with samples when it flares (usually related to sun and wind, but isn’t sunburn). I wonder if I should try this?
I'm co-hosting a baby shower at 10:00 this morning which is unfortunate. When the other host suggested the time I remember thinking that it was too early, but I didn't say anything and now I'm regretting it because I slept like crap and really could have used another hour before I needed to get up and moving. Thankfully it's not happening at my house so all I have to do is show up and help with decorating/food before the guests arrive.
We have nice weather today, so afterwards I may take DS 2 on his long run of the week so I can enjoy some outdoor time myself. Nothing else set in stone today, and tomorrow all I have on the agenda is brunch with my mom.
Right now I’m sitting in my car after dropping DS1 off for his track meet. Luckily he’s doing field events and those are done early so we’ll be able to leave and hopefully he can get a ride home so DH doesn’t have to go back to pick him up later.
I’m going out with my sister and some friends for dinner tonight. We have a family friend whose daughter is turning 15 in April and last year for her birthday we took her out to get her nails done, hair blown out, and took her to dinner downtown. She asked for the same thing again this year so we’re just doing dinner this time. Her dad is a single dad with zero clue about anything girly and she adores my sister. It’s sweet that what she wants is to go dinner with us and friends, I’m the youngest at 45!

It's a moisturizer. Sorry, it's actually called redness solutions, not corrector. I'm pretty sure my redness was caused by the dryness and sensitivity that comes with aging and my unfortunate, very pale, white lady complexion, lol. I do remember reading in the comments that people with rosacea didn't respond as well to it.
I was on phone with a rep the other day and at the end of the call he asked me where I was from. When I said right outside of Boston he was all “Really-I thought you were from Minnesota.” I told him that that's probably because I try and talk without my Boston accent when I'm on the phone. He laughed so hard and said he’d remember that. 😂
