With three kids I rarely leave the house. Since I don't leave I don't spend money. I, however, would not recommend this route just to save on fun money.
The booze in a water bottle is cracking me up. Did you hide it in a paper bag?
What do your other budget categories look like? Do you have a line for clothing, grooming, ect or do you spend your fun money on that stuff? IF you don't, I think getting that set would help you spend less "fun money".
We don't do separate fun money but I don't spend a lot a week. The only thing I've bought this week, other than lunch, was the new Mumford CD. Starbucks twice a week at the most. I am much more likely to drop a $100+ at a time on stuff I've been wanting.
One tip that I read somewhere is to delete your credit card info from all the websites you like to shop from. Having to enter your information all the time gives you more time to really think about whether you need another sweater or pair of shoes or whatever. I've found this to be true.

I have my Amex memorized. This won't work with me. :-(

I dont do anything at all. No lunches with friends. Everything I do involves my child and I still spend $25 a week. This includes starbucks, pizza delivery, and candy. Sorry.
Regency Theater on Warner in Huntington Beach I believe charges $4 or $6 tix. They're 2 weeks old, but nbd.
My SIL calls it the Poop Theater. Because she stepped in poop in one of the theaters.
The poop has not deterred me!
The tickets are $3 and the movies tend to be much older than 2 weeks old. Like I saw 21 Jump Street there with my mom and it came out On Demand the next day.
