Yay for my new besties! Hopefully Amoosed will still be my friend even though I only got to take 2 of the art pieces.
I've been meaning to read the books. I have to remember to pick them up.
Ugh Rikki! I was wondering what would happen with that. I hope you got the pieces you love and you can start collecting some fabulous new stuff for your fabulous new life.

nqb, I vote angryharpy for you. Cats, attorneys, concerts, you each claim to be fat when you're not, and you are now both on the East Coast.
Yes! Harpy is a good one. We also have the anxiety stuff in common and a fondess for story telling. Different music tastes but the same appreciation for live music.
Harpy is already mine. I will fight you to the death for her. Bourbon forever!!!!
I want one! Early 30s, pregnant with first kid (and terrified), work in PR, loooove food and travel, women's college alum, love reading pretty much anything, sucker for horror movies, diehard Ravens and Capitals fan, owner of one very spoiled and cute cat.
I loved the Dark Tower series, and it stays away from most of the violence/apocalypse of The Stand. It was much more fantasy than sci-fi. I loved the characters and the way that it tied together so many plots and characters from his other books. The Gunslinger took awhile to get going, but give it some time, its worth it.

We can have a threesome. You're a NESCAC girl, right? I don't do dark liquor though. Well I try and them my stomach says no.

Love: wine, great fiction (especially YA dystopia), my very spoiled dog, fall, travel, The Oatmeal, Will Wheaton, Mike Birbiglia, NPR, Parks and Rec, Big Bang Theory, makeup, sarcasm

30 year old married prof that gets paid way more than she should. Loves: my job, traveling, tasting menus, most alcoholic drinks, dive bars or really any bar, and good deals... And of course the 80s.
Dislikes waking up early, calories, running, people that think you can't drink before 5, people that criticize adults for getting drunk.
litasail, we could at least be close friends, if not BFFs. I also work in PR, hope to have a kid soon, love horror movies and will read anything. But I'm a dog person and not hugely into sports, unless I'm watching them in person, so I may not be eligible for full BFF status.

Lord of Oats! I printed out his "words you need to stop misspelling" and put it on my wall when I was writing my proposal, lol. Affect/effect is my worst nightmare.

Ha! I just went back and saw your post and was like, "ooooh, perhaps a match!!" Dunzo - GBCN bffs 4-eva!
Now I guess we have to start coordinating our tweets and posts to make them eerily similar.
I could post a FB photo but I don't think that'd satisfy you either.
Have a friend take a picture of you with their phone. Or a coworker.
"Hey coworker, I need you to take a picture of me for the internet message board I hang out on while working." Don't really think that will go over well.

Late 20s, east coast southern liberal whole is pretty bored at home, but not sure what else to do, has a never used arch degree, loves anything decorating, sewing and cooking, when there's not a toddler screaming on her leg. Refuses to watch reality tv unless its SYTYCD and only exercises if there's free childcare.
We're pretty close
Late 20s, east coast liberal, wants to be at home but is worried about being bored, biology degree (whop whop), loves decorating and crafts and has a very active 8 month old. Also LOOOOVE SYTYCD and generally don't like exercising!
I really wanted zombiemuse to be real to increase the number of non-marrieds around here.
Mid 20's, glorified admin asst with a history degree, concentration in 20th century america, minor in public admin, I don't demand that you be unmarried, just be understanding. If anyone else likes cooking, pinterest, too much time on netflix, and/or the sims, hit me up. Former band geeks welcome!
We could be a match! I'm 33, an admin assistant for a school, have a history degree and started to get my master's in public admin. I would like to go back to school and finish it. Love pinterest. I'm too cheap for netflix and I never got into sims. My parents paid me to give up the flute.
NQB we're close to gbcn besties. I'm relatively east coast, liberal, a former writer who loves YA fiction & I'm also a government attorney. Married & 33. 2 kids.
lives on west coast works for non-profit likes: the packers, craft beer, traveling, d&r married mid-20's no kids, no pets, no intentions of having either anytime soon
We've got the Packers, non-profit, craft beer, and no kids going for us.
i was born and raised on the east coast and i love boston... that puts us a little closer together!
from what i know of you from here, you're super cool and i think we actually could be friends irl.
Old lady (37) with a gaggle of kids, midwest raised, Architect, likes anything creative/artsy/ real estate/construction related, not much into reading fiction (unless you count the Recent GBCN posts) but I'm good at watching TV, much more outgoing IRL (secretly dream of being a stand up comedian) & loves to drink. My DH is even my opposite except he's an Archi-dork too.
Like fringe, never watched any of the other three. I'm assuming the star trek movie doesn't count. (Am I the only one disappointed that Zachary Quinto is gay? )
eta: I suck at smiley faces.
Sorry. Pickles and anything pickled is gross.
Nope, I was disappointed too. Why are all the hot guys gay? John Barrowman, anyone? (Please tell me there are Doctor Who/Torchwood fans present.)
What video games do you play? I like some FPS games, but usually the more adventure-y ones, like Thief, Deus Ex. Also puzzle-solving games like Myst, and RPGs like Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Icewind Dale.
Pickled stuff is kind of gross.
There are a few John fans here! Glad to see another one!
Wait, jw28! I just read your other post about being a Whedon fan on top of Torchwood and Doctor Who and Star Trek! We can be besties! This is all I need to know about you How do you feel about Sherlock (the BBC one)?
Agree the best is when one of you hates olives. I find this is very common for couples.
