I did last night. It was supposed to (and did) go down to the 20's. I'm just north of Boston. This is about as early as I've ever done it. I try to wait until 11/1, but I'm too interested in my personal comfort these days.
I broke down and did it yesterday morning. Thankfully it hasn't really kicked on except a bit this morning. DH was complaining that the towels weren't drying the cold air.

I am north of Boston too! Howdy!
I have not turned on my heat yet, but I live on the second and third floors. I don't usually put my heat on until November. My Dad asked my Mom if she wanted to turn it on and she said No. She's cheap!
I only have the heat on in my bathroom (baseboard electric heat). My condo is south-facing on the second floor and seems to stay around 70-75 degrees without any heat on all winter. I actually keep windows open most of the time or get too hot - but I'm special snowflake who is going through menopause and am hot ALL THE TIME (I even have a fan on my desk at work that runs most of the day summer & winter!!!)
I live in Ontario, Canada about 90 kilometers east of Toronto - right now it's about 50 degrees and I have my window open a bit
Ours turned on by itself this morning. I guess I forgot to turn it off (it was set at 67 and never gets that cold with the windows a/c's in the summer). I turned it back off. We are a little south of Boston.
When we went to DS's soccer game this morning it was 40 and there was frost on the grass. Not too bad.
SO and I keep going back and forth. I put the heat on 73 during the day, he puts the AC on 69. I think the apartment is regularly at 70F if we don't turn our heating/cooling system on at all.
Yes, the heat has been on for a few weeks. We have had some snow twice already. Northern Michigan
lys, have I already asked you where in Northern Michigan? PM me the answer if you want.
We're in the Lansing area and we've had it on a couple times, usually in the morning to cut the chill. We live in a drafty old farmhouse so we're used to bundling up.
By the way, this is the first time I've ever heard the phrase, "cut on the heat." I have been living beneath a rock! (Explains all the fashion problems, too.)
Southeast PA - turned it on last week, but I keep it at 65 so it hasn't been running too often. Our house is generally on the cool side, so when it's 60 out it feels colder inside. I haven't tracked temps, but I think it's gotten into the 40s at night.
Our electric bill just came for the previous month where we didn't use AC or heat and it was only $90!!! It was ~$225 in the summer so it's tempting to keep the heat off longer if we can.
We still haven't turned on the heat and we're in Ohio. I've used the space heater for working and turned the gas fireplace on one night for yoga but that's been it. The house is in the 60s.
