in my group with 15 women you would want 3 quiches. 2 = 16 pieces and everyone would want at least 1 piece. I really like your appetizer selections. Can you add a mixed green salad - fall inspired with craisins, apples/pears, goat/blue cheese?
and I'd be pissed if I said 11 and people didn't show until noon - that's so rude.
I wouldn't serve soup, unless everyone will have a seat at a table. And even then I would not serve it in bread bowls.
If people will just be sitting in chairs with their plates, then I'd serve something like sandwiches.
Two varieties of quiche would be fine.
ETA: if you really want to serve soup, maybe serve it in smaller bowls/cups, almost like shooters. I wouldn't use a bread bowl, that'll be impossible for people to break apart and eat once the soup is gone. Stick to a regular dish.

I agree that bread bowls might be unnecessarily complicated. And for soups, broccoli cheese and baked potato are both pretty heavy. Maybe one that's not creamy?
I think it sounds lovely but quiche and cream based soup is a pretty rich combo. Plus mimosas with broccoli cheddar soup sounds nasty, and you need to have mimosas.
I would kill the soups. Instead, I would do a big green salad. No cheese or creamy dressing. Instead, add fruit accents to lighten it up and make it a little sweet and brunch-y. Mixed greens with dried cranberries and walnuts, and a citrus vinaigrette would be nice. I also really like adding pomegranate seeds to salads. They look really pretty. Thinly sliced kumquats and radishes are also really pretty in a green salad.
If you do a soup, I would do tomato or something not cream/starch based.
You could also do a light potato salad. Leave the skin on red potatoes, chop them up, and toss in a vinaigrette with lots of fresh herbs. Easy side that doesn't have to be kept warm.
Soup and quiche is pretty heavy. And since it sounds like people have to balance trays on their lap to eat, soup is an absolute no IMO. Instead, how about quiche, a green salad, and maybe a roasted potato or sweet potato side? And fruit.
If I skip the soup, what about mini grilled sandwiches? I think my mom is set on trying to keep it to warm dishes so the traditional tea service type stuff won't fly.
FWIW, my dad is the chef and will/can cook while the party is going on so I'm not worried about being pre-occupied setting things up.
Grilled sandwiches and quiche sound like a very odd combo.
If your mom wants warm dishes, then some potatoes would be good.
I think a salad is a must though. If she wants something warm, maybe some roasted vegetable medley? This recipe is really good

I threw a halloween party where I made fall sandwiches out of sharp cheddar, apple butter and pumpernickle bread (or maybe it was dark rye) they were very good! I think mini grilled cheese sandwiches sound good too. You could serve it with a shooter of tomato soup

I like this idea. I've recently become obsessed with soup shooters.
You could do a grilled cheese bar with a variety of cheeses, apples, meats, etc. IDK how time consuming that would be for the cook though.
Fall-inspired salad, quiche, and warm potato salad? Would I need anything else (in addition to the appetizers).
Warm potato salad sounds kind of gross. Why not just a roasted potato? But no, you wouldn't need anything else to balance out the meal. I would want fruit, but you could put some into the salad (apples, pears, cranberries, pomegranate seeds, etc.)

I have a recipe that's actually really good, but it's essentially like roasted potatoes.
Not trying to be rude but if I were coming for a shower around 11/12 I would expect more food than that. The apps sound fine but quiche would not be enough for lunch for me. Can you do one of the sandwich rings from the grocery store or something?

What?
I can eat like a horse. This meal is filling. How is appetizers + quiche, potatoes, and salad + cupcakes not enough food for lunch? What do you usually eat for lunch?

Nope, wouldn't fill me up at all, I'd have a few crackers and cheese but not a crab dip or hummus person, but even if it was just artichoke dip and chips and salsa, I'd still want more of a main meal.
I would have a piece of quiche and a slice of sandwich and one cupcake.
She knows her guests so maybe quiche is enough lunch but my crowd would be starving.
If you add in the potato salad plus a green salad then you're closer to having the amount of food that you need. But you really shouldn't be calling it a brunch. The foods you have planned are lunch foods, there's not really anything there that's specifically breakfast.
warm potato salad= german potato salad = awesome, but it doesn't quite say shower food.
I'd do quiche, spinach salad (craisins, red onion, bleu cheese, mandarin oranges, glazed walnuts, balsamic) fruit platter, and roasted potatoes.
Oh spinach, nice. Yes, I still think this is the best menu. Roasted potatoes have a crisped exterior that potato salad just doesn't have. And it goes better with quiche.

I agree. This sounds lovely. Except no mandarin oranges in the salad. Ew.
