I need to get to work on NaNoWriMo, but this just came up on Facebook:
Congratulations to the Democrats and Young People! You now own it. The next terrorist attack you own it.More toleration of extreme and fanatical Islamists, you own it. Muslim sheria law and their "mercy killings being put into practice in the USA, you own it. (the real war of terror on women", you own it.) Terrorist attacks called work place incidents, you own it.
Your revenge instead of love of country, you own it. President George Bush is out of it now, and there is not another good man for you to vilify and lie about. In a way I am relieved that another good man will not be blamed when it was impossible to clean up this mess you voted for.Unfortuantely after another 4 years it very may well be too late to recover from. Have a good day. God bless the United States.
So we're being blamed for terrorist attacks? That's real fucking classy. Also, we don't love the country because we disagree on how it should be ran? Fuck you.
I cut some shit out of the middle. I just can't even process this shit. The vein in my neck is about to fucking burst.
BTW, this is a recycled status, so it might be coming around to you.

I have been shocked to discover that I only voted for Obama because I am a free-loader who wants shit handed to me by Big Daddy government instead of working for it. Apparently, I also hate America.
Sometimes I just can't keep the logic straight. Did I vote for Obama because I love "sheria" terrorists? Or because I'm a freeloading socialist? Or is it because I was fooled into thinking there's a war on women? Sigh, it's so hard to remember!

:Y: There's so much contradictory shit in statuses like these. Ugh...I defriended him. Second since the election.

Do you really believe there was a "war on women" ? If so... why ? Because some people don't think they should have to pay for free condoms for women ?

Yes - exactly! It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Republican Party seems stuck in the 1950s, where women exist to have dinner on the table when the menfolk get home from work. It has nothing to do with the fact that GOP candidates regularly said disgusting things about rape, how they believe that women who have been raped should be forced to have the baby, but refuse to consider maternity leave policies, and want to slash funding for the social safety net. (Pro-fetus, anti-baby!) That Republicans see no problem with the fact that women make 77 cents for every dollar men make. Nope - I'm just a slut who wants free birth control.

is this a serious fucking question?
Get back in your binder!
Yeah, most other liberals I've met don't have the answer either. Just a bunch of left-wing claims that idiots accept without proof. Not calling you brainwashed muppets or anything.... but....
Yes, actually, I do believe that denying contraceptives to women who are paying health insurance premiums is an attack on women's freedoms. I also believe that a systematic attack on Planned Parenthood funding has more to do with shaming women with unplanned pregnancies than it has to do with the federal budget. And I believe that when a bunch of old, white men think they know better than a woman what's right for her and her body, then yes, that is a war on women.

Thanks for an actual answer. I was just curious, and I respect your reasons. I don't agree, but I respect them. So many people (like these idiots that have responded) just throw names out there or distract from the actual question.
Anyway, women aren't denied contraceptives, they can get them any time they want. Just like always.
The rest, I see, is based on your beliefs on abortion, and as a male I can't argue against you on those. Nor would I try. Unless it was my baby of course.
Just didn't understand why all of a sudden, in this election, this "war on women" was brought up... when these issues have existed forever... except (of course) as ammo to cover for Obama's complete failures.
Seems a lot of stuff came up this election for that reason. Anyway... thanks

Njj answered you before smock, but you were too far up your own ass to see it, which makes sense since you weren't really looking answers so much as trying to stir the pot.
Efforts to redefine rape on a federal level, to mandate unnecessary and non-consensual medical procedures that constitute statutory rape on a state level, and to de-fund and block preventative care services at both levels all happened in 2011 and 2012.
In 2011 alone, the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives took eight votes on choice related issues - the highest number of recorded votes on choice since 2000. Similarly, 26 states enacted a total of 69 anti-choice measures - just one short of the most recorded in 1999.
Or what bettyhomewrecker said. It's disingenuous to claim that Dems "fabricated" this war on women idea when Reps have been making more efforts at the state and federal level to limit women's rights than ever before.

Again, this is all very old news. Why it came up this election is astounding. Like I said... to cover for the fact that Obama had nothing to run on... they created these divisions and fed women the ammo they wanted them to use.
No politician "regularly said disgusting things about rape"' ffs. One guy made a comment, of HIS beliefs, stating the baby (not the rape) is still a gift from God.... and people ran with that, again... for lack of any substance on their candidates part. People that don't believe in killing babies, are not going to differentiate between sluts, wannabe moms, or rape victims. Babies being murdered are babies being murdered.
Maybe it isn't the Dems trying to "feed women ammo" (which, btw, is very insulting to women's intelligence), maybe it's the GOP allowing an out-of-touch fringe element in society to take over their party and run on social platforms that are antithetical to the majority of American women.
