Aw, I thought you meant I'd have 5 days there. But regardless, I'm going to amend my answer to something like, idk, cedar rapids iowa or some shit. I'm broke til Christmas, lol.
Probably somewhere on the Baja peninsula in Mexico if I'm looking at my bank account.
Assuming I had money saved for a vacation, I'd probably do Hawaii. Or check into a resort and spa around here and use the money saved on airfare for pampering.
I would keep it close since you do not want to spend too many hours traveling.
Bermuda would be an awesome choice, but too cold to swim this time of year. Riviera Maya would be my choice or Domenican....both 3.5 hour flights from NYC, both warm, both beautiful beaches! Miami The Keys
Oh, this is a real thing and not just a scenario. lol. In that case, probably a Caribbean cruise. Or, take off a couple extra days and go Mediterranean, but it's too long to travel for too short a cruise. From what I understand, Disney is a mob scene from Thanksgiving to New Years', or I might go there. Belize might be a good pick, too.
Hmm. If it's coming out of my bank account right now, I'd have to say downtown Minneapolis would be about all we could afford right now. So a whole 20 minutes away.
I'm about 2 hours away from each of these places (provided you mean Vancouver, WA). These are both great places, but looking out my window right now, I'd say save a trip here for late July. It's beautiful that time of the year. Or late September for the fall colors before it gets gray.
Williamsburg VA. We're lame and dorky, so it's one of our favorite vacation sports.
We'll actually be down there for Thanksgiving next year.
Not dorky at all! H and I went there as part of our first vacation. We want to go down there sometime around Christmas. (Pictures made it look pretty)
I'm not turning in my dork card yet. We went there for (part of) our honeymoon (the rest was spent in CA, doing equally dorky things). Anyone we told was all "you came here, for your honeymoon?" and then gave us this 'WTF kind of people are you' look.
We've been there 4 times in the past 5 years.
If relocating wasn't such a PITA we'd totally move.

We keep talking about going back down there and spending more time there, but havn't gotten there yet.

No, dude, no one ever means Vancouver, WA when they say Vancouver. I bet most people (outside of WA/OR) don't even know there's a Vancouver, WA.

Where in CA did you go?
We got married on one of the beaches in Laguna, so we stayed there for the weekend. Stopped off at Dana Point for a day, then we went to Universal Studios and did the cheesy tourist stuff in Hollywood for a weekend. Then we drove up the PCH to San Simeon and did a few tours of Hearst Castle... then we drove back down the PCH to H's sister's house in Yorba Linda to return their car (we borrowed her H's Cadillac [something fancy, can't remember the model] for our drive). Then we flew home, did laundry and went to VA.
It added up to 1 week in CA, 1 week in VA. But it was fun.
