I was hit by a car yesterday

I was waking in the grocery store parking lot and this woman was making a left into a spot and not looking as she turned (actually, she was looking at her phone and speeding, but whatever). She just ran her car directly into my leg and knocked me off balance. I hit her hood with my purse and cursed at her, lol. And I'm really glad my kids weren't with me.

Then she refused to get out of the car. A fire chief from another town wrote a whole incident report and took her info down. I just went inside. I swear this shit happens to me constantly.

She refused to get our of her car!?! Wow, I would be out of my car apologizing and damn near in tears (and hoping the person wouldn't sue me). That is insane. WTF is wrong with people?

I'm fine. I jumped back so she didn't hit me hard. I was just mad mostly. Then embarrassed since I hate being the center of attention.

That's awful. I am glad you weren't seriously hurt. I can't believe the lady refused to get out of the car. But then again I can, because she was inconsiderate enough to drive and text/use her phone.

why wouldn't she get out of her car? Thats weird--even if someone hit my hood and said @#%$^&, I'd still get out and make sure they are ok since well, I was at fault. I'm glad you are ok.

What I can't believe is people are in a parking lot. With places left and right to pull your car into. What is SO important that you can't wait until you're in the parking spot to continue texting?

I got told off by old guy at a freaking Steak n' Shake this weekend. I was slowly driving through the parking lot and pulled into a space. He got out of the car and yelled, "you almost got hit lady!!" I thought he was kind of joking around because every car in the parking lot was parked. I kind of gave him a confused look and went on about my business and he yelled at me and told me I should pay attention to what I'm doing and he just wanted to back out, but he couldn't because I was DRIVING past his car. He would not give it up. I was finally like, "IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM THAT I WAS DRIVING PAST YOUR CAR WHEN YOU WANTED TO BACK OUT, I DON'T NEED YOUR FUCKING ATTITUDE!!"

Then he started shaking his head and mumbling. Then I went ballistic.

I try to be nice to people, and this is what happens. They just keep pushing me. Like, I help old ladies with their groceries and stuff, and then I get yelled at for parking my car. Jesus.

papier, that guy must be related to the guy who hit my husband a few years ago. He lost control, came across the median, took out TWO trees and hit the side of our car, and then the first thing he said was "why didn't you get out of my way?" And he was serious.

He also tried to convince the cops my husband was at fault. They were still laughing when they pulled away.

Holy crap, I'm glad you're ok. I would have gone off too. One time I was waiting in line to pull into a parking deck, and the car in front of me threw it in reverse and came crashing back into me. I was SO pissed, because (a), how fucking stupid do you have to be to do that, but also (b) I was afraid insurance, police, whoever was going to think I hit her and fault me for the accident*. I will never forget the look on the woman's face as I yelled at her. I think she was afraid I was going to resort to violence. But I mean come on.

*They didn't. It turns out they can tell which car hit the other. It was very interesting.

H and I were almost hit in a grocery store parking lot. The driver's companion was not helpful. We were halfway across the lane in front of the store and a car (moving way to fast for a parking lot) came roaring up and then stopped with a screeching halt when the driver saw us. After the car stopped, we crossed in front of it, the driver honked at us and the passenger rolled down the window and flipped us off.

It was such an asshole thing to do - more so than just continuing to speed in the parking lot would have been. Who takes the time out to stop for pedestrians and then honk at them?

I've had that happen the last few times I've gone for a run. I live near an area with a grocery store, fast food, and a strip of other stores (so lots of entrances to the parking lot), and I was surprised how many people look only one way before they pull into traffic, pedestrians be damned. And then one time, as I was in the middle of the entrance, a car came up from behind me and turned right in front of my path, missing me by inches. Seriously, WTF?

I got hit in a Target parking lot. I was putting some things in the backseat of my car and this woman came whipping into the parking spot next to me on her phone, never saw me, and "hip-checked" me with her car. I ended up falling into the car and slamming the door on my hand.

She never got off her phone or anything, just kept going right into target as I am yelling trying to open my door with my hand closed in it. I broke two nails (lol) and had a bruised finger. I was so lucky. I called the cops and they kind of laughed me off. Boo. Glad you are ok as well!!

Glad you're OK. I lose faith in humanity almost every time I go to the grocery store or Target, especially with the idiots in the parking lot. I question how all these people got drivers' licenses.
