I know 2 people who did an 80-10-10 (not sure if it's heloc or hel) and one that did 20% w one loan up to the conforming limit and the remainder of the 20% on a second loan. Only close enough to one for ask for details and her h handled most of it unfortunately.
Maybe it's availability is a regional thing? Housing costs are pretty high near me.
And I know the rule is generally don't use secured debt to pay off unsecured debt and put your house on the line. But I'm just thinking lots of people put 10% down on a house anyways and the ability to deduct the interest would be great. I've been paying 7-9k in interest alone and can't deduct any, and even if our income was low enough to qualify the max is 2500.
I *think* they are about 4.99%. Ive found a couple quotes on line (nothing specific for us we aren't ready to apply) and my friends is about 4.75. Similar incomes and home prices.
So not a huge difference in interest but we can't decuct any sl interest due to income.
I think it's a little Tight but probably fine. Would savings cover a new car? There seems to be plenty of places you could trim things down. The older car is the biggest concern to me.
we are considering moving and buying a new house. I have about 100k in student loans. Most are federal, but one is private. Interest rates vary but I have a couple 5-7% totalling about $60k.
New house would be about 600k. We could pay 20% down payment on the new house and continue paying my loans like I've always been. Or we could pay off 60k in loans (freeing up about $600 in monthly payments) and put 10% down on the house. We would either do an 80-10-10 or pay pmi. This would be a long term house (hopefully until kids are grown).
I haven't had a lot of luck finding out about what rates the 10% home equity or piggy back loans would be. Or what pmi is. Conforming loans in our county are 517k, so we would be conforming if we put down 120k. However, I know people who have bought under the local conforming rate but still took out 2 mortgages because anything over 417 is still considered a high balance loan even if it's conforming. If we were going to be in that boat anyways w 20% down would it make sense to just do 10% down and get rid of the student loans?
We can't deduct our student loan interest anymore and from my understanding we are could still deduct pmi or the extra 10% mortgage loan. I'm not sure how much longer the loans are but they were 20-30 year repayment terms and I've been paying about 7 years. They just won't go away!
Credit scores are 800+ 2 steady jobs, efund and closing costs set aside separately. Thanks!
This is so weird to me. I would check the lease. I've had lots of rentals and the standard was always in good repair and broom clean condition. Id wipe down all appliances and surfaces and make sure there was nothing obviously dirty but no way I would be scrubbing a toilet with a toothbrush.
I read her article as her h lost his job before they built the dream house. I think what she's saying now is they have to move maybe because of his job? Terrible writing since no one seems exactly sure of what she said.
At what age does this madness typically start? My daughter is in the infant room still. Her dc has occassional weekend activities I get notices of. My h does pick up and drop off and doesn't give me half the notices so maybe I'm missing more than I know of. But there's no way I could/would go to something like this more than once or twice a year since her dc is in the opposite direction from my work. I have enough working mom guilt w/o dc perpetuating it.
I think I would do below the transom as well. It doesn't look like there's moulding between the windows to put a third panel so I would use the extra wide panels so you can close them completely. Generally if you don't plan to close curtains you want the width of the fabric to be 1.5x the width of the window. If you do plan to close them the curtain width should be 2-2.5x the width of the window to avoid looking like you've hung a bed sheet when they are closed (I made this mistake in one room and it looks like crap!)
I worked for a non profit and we had extremely strict travel and expense policies and I was never asked to share a room. I'm ok with donating to a cause that treats it's employees like adults and not kids at summer camp.
Absolutely not and I wouldn't work at a cheap ass place that had such a policy. I find it totally inappropriate and lacking all boundaries. No one needs to hear me fart in my sleep and see my dangling tits.
No not in a million years. I wouldn't with my parents either and we are freakishly close with them. If I couldn't afford to go otherwise then I would not go.
I’m sorry but this is fucking awesome. I don’t even baby wear but I really want to wear my Ergo out now with a pretend baby and cawcaw out to other babywearers to see if anyone hollers back. Thanks @smace for a good laugh today
that is absurd. and I think the store should have policies against this.
Agreed. With special collections each person should be limited to 10 items or something. It's obnoxious that the majority of stuff is being hawked for tripe the price.
I get irrationally annoyed at anything on the gray market. It makes me almost feel like if you cant beat em join em. But I don't have it in me.
