So, H's friends are getting together in Vegas in March. It sounds like the majority are staying at HOOTERS. I like the cheap price for a booze fest of a weekend. But it's Hooters. I can't get past that.
Has anyone actually stayed at Hooters?
ETA: To clear up some confusion, I am going with. It's H's circle of friends. Including men, women, straight and gay.

I'd be worried. I've heard that the Hooters girls break into the hotel rooms in the middle of the night & shake their stuff in guys' faces & try to force feed them chicken wings.
Seriously, have you been to Vegas? The hotel they stay at is not going to make a difference.
I think Hooters is supposed to be one of the more economical hotels in Vegas, so I don't see why that would be a problem.
It's a pretty crappy hotel with pretty poor amenities (bad restaurants, shitty pool, etc ) and isn't in the best location but if everyone else is staying there I'd probably bite the bullet.
ETA: I've never stayed there but I've seen the rooms when DH's friends stayed there and I gambled there once.
ETA2: I thought you were considering a stay there. Who cares if DH goes? I agree with everyone else--it's no better/worse than any other hotel as far as the shit he'll see/do.
I don't even remember seeing anything particularly risque in Vegas. Now, granted, it was just me and now-MH (then boyfriend) so we weren't going to strip clubs or seedy bars, but it seems like the only people who get into deep trouble in Vegas are the ones who are actively looking for it. If your trust your husband in regular life then you shouldn't have a problem with him going to a chicken wing casino.
I was on the Knot when that movie The Hangover first came out, and it always cracked me up to read the panicky micromanaging posts, "OMG, how could you allow your FI to have a bachelor party in VEGAS?!?!?! Didn't you see The Hangover? Don't you know what goes on in Vegas?!?!?!?" Um, it was the bride's brother's fault for spiking their drinks with roofies, dumbass, so unless your own brother is a nutjob you probably have nothing to worry about.

I'm going too! They can shake their titties in my face and force feed me chicken wings too. Oh wait....I don't like tits and wings
I didn't realize my post sounded like I wasn't going or that I was questioning it because of the hoots. I was more questioning it because it's so cheap and cheap looking.
I live in Vegas...I would never stay at that hotel. You can get much nicer rooms for the same price . Hooters in March is a disaster. Think 20 something boys on spring break.
I wouldn't want to stay there, not because it's Hooters, but because it's a crappy hotel. I think you can find something much better that is still affordable.

My husband stayed at Hooters this past July and said it was disgusting. He is by no means very particular and even he thought the rooms were gross and unclean. You can get an inexpensive, clean hotel for a similar price somewhere else.
yeah- i'd much rather spend more and stay somewhere decent.... I LOVE hooters - to go and eat at (great wings, etc) but don't imagine their hotel would be anything i'd want to sleep in.

It's cheap. Sometimes we get a room there for $15 just to stay a few hours before picking someone up at the airport . However it is DIRTY. Disrepair, smells awful, hair all over the bathroom. Like pp said its probably worth it to stay with group. Just be prepared for the shabbiness.

I just saw you're going in march. Definitely look at other options. Hooters is low budget you will be stuck in long lines to check in,valet, get a drink, get on an elevator, etc. The place is depressing anyways.
I haven't stayed there but I have been there and I have stayed at several cheap places nearby. My DH and his friends are of the mindset that you only need a hotel room to sleep and you barely sleep in Vegas and don't need to be right on the strip. For my friends and family, I insist we stay somewhere nicer. I've been to Vegas with a lot of groups and in your situation I would probably just stay there unless you don't mind missing out in spontaneous group activities or you plan on spending a lot of time in your room.

This is what I was thinking, but the dirtiness concerns me.
We can get a room for $33 a night. Tropicana next door is $140 a night. I don't particularly like the MGM Grand rooms. But I'd stay there again if I got a great deal.
