What did they put in writing for the reason for termination?

Employee didn't seem happy doesn't seem like grounds for lawful termination, regardless of the harassment issue that you brought up.

I actually left the meeting, grabbed my stuff off my desk and just walked out without saying a word to anyone.

I also didn't finish any of the work they need done on Friday afternoons so they can have fun trying to finish it on time today.

I am a little smug though, because there are some things I was doing that other people in the office don't know how to do, so not sure how those aspects of the job will be able to happen going forward since they can't train a new person on it

Have you signed something? Because the industry I work in severance is usually paid only with you agreeing the termination is agreeable or something and you also agree not to pursue legal action over being severed/terminated or however they word it.

I'm glad you were mentally prepared for this. Even though it sucks. Being blindsided is worse. Even though their 'reason' REALLY sucks.

They told me they would email me the written termination by the end of next week- is that legal or should I have it immediately?

They will be paying me through the middle of February which is why I wasn't pushing too hard on getting it in writing today

Would hurt to have consulted with/retained a lawyer before that so they can review the official termination and advise you on what to do next.
