Shit Autumn, that sucks. I hope you flip your disgusting coworker the bird when you leave.
I actually left the meeting, grabbed my stuff off my desk and just walked out without saying a word to anyone.
I also didn't finish any of the work they need done on Friday afternoons so they can have fun trying to finish it on time today.
I am a little smug though, because there are some things I was doing that other people in the office don't know how to do, so not sure how those aspects of the job will be able to happen going forward since they can't train a new person on it
( I was working on implementing Constant Contact, their biggest marketing tool at the moment and I was literally the only one who knew how to use it in the office!)
I had been anticipating it because of the timing of the review so I took a Xanax a little while before and made sure all my personal stuff was already packed so I could just walk out
They are doing two weeks severance on top of my current paychecks due, so at least we are financially okay for about another 6 weeks
And hey, like H said "now you don't have to deal with that cuntbag anymore!"
Have you signed something? Because the industry I work in severance is usually paid only with you agreeing the termination is agreeable or something and you also agree not to pursue legal action over being severed/terminated or however they word it.
I'm glad you were mentally prepared for this. Even though it sucks. Being blindsided is worse. Even though their 'reason' REALLY sucks.
So you didn't sign anything? I'm really don't know much about this, and I'm not a lawyer, but if you didn't get anything in writing/you didn't sign something, I would definitely contact a lawyer about any recourse you might have.
I'm sorry what a crappy way to handle this! You're well-out of that company, even though it sucks right now. I hope you find something you like better! And that pays more
