What would you get? I'm pretty sure I'm going to trade my car in, so that I can get xh's name off of the title (which I can't do until my car is paid off, or if I refinance.)
I currently have a Corolla, which I love, but I think I'd like a slightly bigger sedan or possibly a small SUV. What I'd really, really like is a Highlander, but I don't know if I can find one for a price I can afford.

i have a rogue and like it fine. i got the pimped out version and it was less than 30k. my H is obsessed with the jetta tdi. i have my eye on the new kia optimas, the new nissan altimas, and the mini countryman.
What about stepping up from a Corolla to a Camry? We had one for a very long time and it was a great commuter car. And you obviously know and trust Toyota (we upgraded the Camry to a Lexus so H could have that pretty "L" on the hood. But it's still a Toyota and still a great car.)
I had the same exact scenario a few weeks ago and ended up with a 2013 Elantra. I previously never would have considered Hyundais but I really like this year's bodystyles.
I also like their Tucson (SUV) but wanted better gas mileage.

One of the new(er) Subaru's with the new body style. I like the Outback as well as the Legacy. That said, I love driving my 4Runner and am not sure I'll ever own anything other than a Toyota.
We're looking into a Hyundai Sonata. A bit sportier than a Camry, good warranty, and still a decent size and gas mileage (downgrading from a Pacifica, but I used to have a Corolla so I'm excited about a smaller car again).

I have been looking at the Highlander too and I think the basic one is just under $30k. I have also looked at gently used ones like under 30k miles and a 2010 or 2011. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe right now and I love it. I am honestly not sure how much they are though because mine is 7 years old.

I have a Highlander and I LOVE it! I almost exclusively do city driving, and I get around 24 mpg. We bought mine when it was a year old with very low miles and I know we paid well under 30K, 22k maybe?
It drives like a car, and does awesome in the snow. I live in Colorado and it's never so much as slipped in the snow. It's had zero maintance issues in the 4 years I've owned it. Highly recommend!

I have a Highlander and it was under $30k new and has leather and some upgrades. I love it. I'd say I get 22ish miles, but I do mainly city driving. Go in and drive one and see if they will work with you if you like it, you may be surprised!
