Probably not a ton. Most of my drinking was in college and then my mid-20s to early 30s. I was too poor in law school and my first few post-graduation years to drink much, and then I pretty much gave it up after getting pregnant with my DD.
My H, however, drinks enough for the both of us. He is a big Irish guy, which tells you everything you need to know.
Probably a lot more though if I count clothes I bought due to gaining weight. I am pretty sure at least a couple of sizes were gained because of drinking--the calories in alccohol, late night eating, losing sleep

Then add in the cost of drinks when you go to restaurants of about $9-$12 a pop.
I console myself with the knowledge that I probably would not have put that particular money into savings anyway since I would have viewed it as a part of fun money. So basically I should weep for the awesome clothes, shoes and bags I may otherwise would have purchased with that money.
For me, I'm certain under $1K. I don't like getting drunk and never liked the club scene. The one time I did get sick from drinking it was a special price on drinks night; and I live in a town where the bars are pretty cheap. DH would be much, much, much more. This is what happens when the nerd marries the captain of the high school football team...

All I know is money is just magically appearing in my bank account now that I can't drink.
My best guess would be about $20K between the both of us. I started drinking shortly before 21 but H has been drinking since he was like, 5. And we have a Kegorator at home, so that doesn't help matters either. *sigh*
Well, I budget $100/month for us to go out for drinks and/or buy alcohol for our house. It would be more for a party, but even if I didn't drink I'd buy alcohol for parties. Plus, H and I probably go over that, since we also have an allowance every month and we sometimes use that for entertainment. We also have an "entertainment budget" and if we use that for dinner out, it's possible it goes towards alcohol.
I didn't drink during the month of September last year for both caloric and budget reasons. It was nice. Not something I'd do all the time, though.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I don't believe you drink more than we do (did). You drink more wine and we drink more beer. We also drink at home mostly.
Don't even want to consider this. I don't even want to consider the cost of what we have in house right now (we've got more than 550 bottles of wine right now). Especially if you include the costs of trips made related to wine (week in the Finger Lakes, trip to Hunter Valley, Australia!)

<-------------Jealous
Do you have a wine room/cellar?
We bought 2 175 bottle wine cellars from Costco as part of our basement finishing this winter. We spent Christmas eve doing an inventory to figure out which bottles go in them--hit 500 bottles at 2am and only had a couple random bottles left downstairs. We also have a wine fridge upstairs that holds ~30 bottles and we had a couple boxes upstairs, that's how I got the 550 estimate.
Unfortunately, in doing the inventory, we're guessing ~150 bottles are past their prime and will either be really good or expensive, bad vinegar.
I quit drinking about 7.5 years ago. At the time I treated myself to weekly manicures as a reward and was still saving crazy amounts of money every month. I figured I spent about $1000 a month on booze and the bar food that went along with it. I am glad I quit. However, I don't have an extra $1000 a month. How is that possible?

I'm kind of the same, but with beer. We took our honeymoon to Napa, but we went to several breweries. We've been to San Diego several times for beer. We went to the Great American Beer Fest in Denver last year. We were considering going to NY beer week. We're considering going to Belgium on a beer trip.
And beer can get expensive. There are several limited edition beer series we try to collect when they release every year, and then we'll buy a few bottles. And you can drink more beer than wine and hard liquor, IMO. :/

Not enough to make me sad. H and I used to go through maybe 2 six packs of beer/month pre-babyliu. We've basically given up alcohol at home because she always wants to drink from our glasses. It's easier to have water than it is to deal with the fall out from something she can't have.
Blessedly, she doesn't ask for our coffee because it's "Hot. HOT!"
I figured that we probably average about $50/week on alcohol. Some weeks we don't buy anything, but then there are nights when our bar tab is over $100. Multiply that by the 15 years we've been drinking, I'd say about $40,000.

I was always too cheap to consider bars unless it was absolutely necessary and I rarely drank throughout most of college. If I had to guess, it's probably somewhere around 10k.
