I would check out the website first, to be honest. It'll give you a better idea of what your options are and it'll make it easier to deal with the store if you already know what you have your eye on.
Also, measure the available space in your car before purchasing anything. Most boxes are manageable but some are pretty big, and you want to make sure they fit.

I went once and hated it. It was such a chore to get out of that place that I started having anxiety. It was like once you go in you have to commit to the entire experience.
Get there as early as you can. IKEA is a madhouse on the weekend.
It's open on Easter Sunday! What better way to celebrate...um...what's Easter about again? Something about the Pilgrims leading snakes out of Egypt? Close enough.
Easter is about resurrection. The resurrection of a bookshelf you will assemble with one allen wrench.
Just an FYI - do not buy any of the malm chest of drawers. They are pieces of junk. I bought one for my DD's nursery and it fell apart while we were assembling it.
I'd set aside at least 1-2 hours to be there. It's definitely less crowded during the week.

i've had a malm set of 4 drawers for close to 6 years. still going strong. weird!
I think they used to make them more sturdy in the past. We have the dresser and matching night stands in our bedroom and have had no problems with it (purchased about 5 years ago).
You can make your visit more pleasant by looking online first and jotting down things you're interested in seeing in person. Then you can just head directly to those items.
I'd say an hour if you want to get in and get out. I love Ikea. I've gotten a ton of stuff there that I use either as is, or refinish to make it more unique.
ETA: go sunday morning, first thing. all the good people are at church, so you only have to deal with heathens. fortify with a cinnamon roll and coffee. then just wander through the areas that you need to see (there are maps). there are "shortcuts" between sections so if you want to go to bedrooms, you can, like, skip office stuff. pay attention to the shortcuts!
Eta: pictures of some shelves I painted/stained/sanded, and a close up of the finish. Also, lol. I realized as I took this that everything on the shelves is from IKEA too. (Except the towels.) My office is full of cheap stuff. Hah.
(Not an actual edit now, the app wouldn't let me add a picture to my other post. Stupid app!)

Yeah, I have one that's 2 years old and has held up perfectly through 2 moves. Absolutely no complaints here.
KA, definitely look online so you know where the product is in the warehouse, and how much you can expect to spend.

I flove Ikea. If you avoid the rat maze on the top floor, it's not so bad. I needed to buy a bookcase one afternoon. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes. The Smaland lady was impressed. I couldn't pull the carton myself, but an employee helped me get it on the cart. I had no problem loading it in my car though.
My car is a 2-door coupe and I managed to load by myself: 1 queen size bed frame + the pieces of wood where your mattress sits and 2 night stands. On another trip, I loaded the expedit 2 x 4 bookshelf. That thing was quite heavy though. I had to drag it through my backyard.

Their stuff is hit or miss. I was just there yesterday. They are also getting more expensive. They are getting full of themselves. But I still bought tons of cheap yet overpriced shit.
Our apartment is full of IKEA - kitchen stuff, decor, sheets, etc. No furniture, but only because we don't need any more. I try to go during the week and at a time when I think it will be less busy. I always go when I know I can take my time, because even walking through the area where stuff is on shelves and not just mostly on display takes an hour. And I like to look at the website ahead of time, although I always find new stuff when I'm there that isn't on the website.
Is it the MA one? They totally rearranged the marketplace and it was a pain in the ass to get through last time. I feel like they moved the shortcuts.
I always check the website to confirm what I want is in stock. If you get there before 11 it isn't too bad. I've been in and out in 30 minutes and also waited just in line for 30.
I laugh inside when I see someone that has realized they bought something that won't fit in their car. The occasional car seats on the sidewalk with mom while dad takes everything home. I was almost that person once.
You can be my personal guinea pig for when I do the same thing in about 4 months. I've never been there either and run through malls and stores with brutal efficiency. Just don't have the shopper gene.
