I also live near POTUS. There was a Civil War battle fought on the land of the neighborhood where I grew up, which is across town from where I live now.
Shopping and eating...more fast food and Italian food than probably anywhere else. And the best pizza and cheesesteaks. I am near 3 shopping malls...I know of 4 Targets...and there are so many other places.
Anyone who with two eyes to look at my sig can see the area where I live and what I like about it. To vaguely zoom in very close to home, I can add the following:
--We have a house built by architect R. Harold Zook; it looks like a Hobbit house. --Seasonal flooding wipes out a small road here, and when the waters recede, all kinds of crazy shit is left on the street. I like swinging over there just to see what it is this year even though it's completely out of my way for pretty much everything. --One of the early white residents of this area was named Socrates.
ETA: The Breakfast Club was partially filmed at a high school that is now closed and serves as the State Lottery building (among other things). I can bike to it from my house. Well, I could before I was ridiculously out of shape.

What kind of stuff washes up on the road?
Here are a few memorable things I have spotted:
--a cat skull --a quinecanera ribbon --a traffic cone --a car door --a baseball bat with a My Little Pony duct taped to the middle --almost an entire tree --half of a canoe --an old suitcase --some dresser drawers --an encyclopedia
Usually there are soccer balls, basket balls, and whatnot too. There are bigger things when the flooding is worse. It is harder to see the items some years because of all the mud, too.
Also, people are always coming up with satanic theories because of all the cat skulls around, but really it's just coyotes. Scientists studies their poop. They eat a LOT of cats.

That's pretty neat! I like finding things like that. It's my only chance if being adventurous! As long as its not dead bodies wash up, cool!
