Processional: Appalachian Spring/Simple Gifts- Copeland Recessional: Highland something or other so it would transition to the bagpiper my mom insisted on having outside First Dance: Blue Sky- Allman Brothers played by 2 Irish guys who we befriended and hired to play a few sets during the cocktail hour and wedding.

I went through a Blessid Union of Souls phase in HS and had all of their CDs. So our first dance was to "The Rest of My Life" by BUOS - my husband liked it because it was in 3 and he's a music nerd. My dad and I danced to "On the Sunny Side of the Street"

We walked down the aisle to Kathy's Song, which ended up being instrumental because the guy forgot to sing, lol. Our first dance was "Chemicals" by A.J Roach, which was scandalous because we had so many super Christian cousins there. Luckily you couldn't really hear the lyrics: "Whiskey's my Shepard, I shall not want; it maketh me lay down in a strange woman's bed..."
I walked down the aisle to One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story
The recessional was the Hallelujah chorus. The organist didn't look too kindly upon this request, but this was a nod to a friend that passed away who had a choir sing this at her wedding recessional. I insisted on having it
Yeah, our first dance was to The Luckiest by Ben Folds and our recessional was Great Heights by the Postal Service. But those songs might be cursed now since we got the big D lol
I walked down the aisle to "Can't help falling in love" by Elvis. Our first dance was "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. Our reception introductions were "Come Baby Come" by k7, "Mony Mony" by Tommy James and the Shondells and "Gimme Some Lovin" by Spencer Davis Group.
Our first dance was "If I Had 1,000,000" by the Barenaked Ladies. We both love that group, and it made people laugh. Our dance floor at the reception was packed until the end.

I walked down the isle to the prayer. It was so pretty. After they announced us husband and wife we walked out to Stevie wonders isn't she lovely.
I had the best band at our wedding. It was a 12 or 14 piece band with a horn section. That was the only thing my husband wanted a part in our wedding planning was the music.

I walked down the aisle to Edelweiss from the Sound of Music, and our recessional was a song from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. Though the bridesmaids walked in to canon in d - my mom couldn't imagine a wedding in which that song doesn't play, so I let her have it
Our first dance was a Sam Cooke song, and MIL and H danced to Starfish and Coffee by Prince. It was kind of weird.
H's cousin played acoustic guitar during our ceremony. My girls walked out to that song from Shrek, we walked out of the church to Metallica's Hero of the Day. Our first dance was to a Chris Cornell song. Not very traditional.

I think I walked to the live song from Phantom of the Opera. I don't remember now. Jewish people don't walk to the regular wedding song be ause it was written by Natzi's or do I was told at the time.
Our first dance was "If I Had 1,000,000" by the Barenaked Ladies. We both love that group, and it made people laugh. Our dance floor at the reception was packed until the end.

I walked down the aisle to the second movement of the Emperor concerto, because Lohengrin wasn't grand enough for me - I needed something written for Napoleon.

Most of the music was traditional - Canon in D, Trumpet Voluntary, first dance to Norah Jones - but H composed the music for the recessional (as a surprise to me).
I walked down to Can't Take my Eyes Off of You by Franki Valli, and we walked back to the Lauryn Hill version of the same song.
We had no traditional music, because we are the opposite of wankers. (See how I did that? That's avoiding calling those of you that had traditional music wankers, but you know, saying it might be the case....) ;P
