If I have to I will. But we buy the jugs of water (I can't stand a million plastic bottles in my recycling bin!). The water here is na-sty. All of our faucets have to be changed ~1/year because of the build-up that accumulates.
My university (same city I currently live in) has white water. Everyone knows it; and knows not to drink out of the faucets. I don't know what it is, but the water comes out of the faucet cloudy-white. It eventually dissipates, but EW.
ETA: TOTALLY agree that the water in Denver and Portland is awesome.
Also, my H is a water snob. He even has brand preferences for his bottled water. I think they all taste... like water. But I agree that our tap water tastes like dirt.

I just can't. I'm not a big water fan and I'm trying to change that but tap? No. My H does but he will also use the ice from our fridge. The filter needs to be changed and it smells like farts.
When I lived at home, I drank the water because my parent's have a well.
When I bought a house and moved, we tried drinking this water but it is gross. We also have a well but we need to get our water tested and we just don't trust it. So we bought a ceramic basin/spout that we can put 5 gallon jugs of water on top.
We get our water jugs from the grocery store (if we are being lazy) or we go to the natural spring fill up machine and get it for $2.00.
We get regular notices from the water company about the lead content in our water where we are here (West Centennial). We stopped drinking tap water because of them.
I also live in Denver, but I work in historic buildings with old pipes and the water is brown. But everywhere else I drink the water. I also have a dog named Walter.
For a minute there, I thought you had changed your screen name. Then I realize that wasn't your Walter.

Oh geez, that sucks! I've never gotten a notice in either location I've lived (Cap Hill and Highlands). I hope I don't, I really truly love Denver water better than bottled.

I added that we're in West Centennial after you already quoted that so we're probably in different water districts? Are you on our local board with a differnt name or someone I honest to goodness don't know? I'll make MrsMarlowe go to the GTGs if I have to.

Nope, I didn't even know there was a local board until one of our MLer Denver gtgs!
We drink bottled. We used to have a couple brita filter pitchers, but then we got a side by side fridge/freezer, and lost about 25% of fridge space, so we stopped using the pitchers. We really NEED to get a faucet filter, that would be handy. Our tap water doesn't taste bad, but it smells weird sometimes, so we don't chance it.
Not where we live now. But back home, or in Toronto yes. Our water (home) is super hard and it doesn't quench my thirst. I feel worse after having some.
Here, I try not to even rinse my mouth with the stuff. Everything we drink and cook with comes from a giant bottle. I miss the good old fluoridated tap water.
Back in the U.S. I drank tap depending on where I lived. In Sacramento we used a Brita filter because the water had a bit of funny taste to it. In Michigan and Illinois I always drank tap. DH's parents have a well and there water has that well-water smell, so I drink bottled when I'm there if I can.
