Any recs? I'm not really into the bloody/slasher type flicks. But I love a good creepy movie that makes you nervous about sleeping alone. Something that's more ambiance than cheap thrills. I think the thread about the reddit stories got me in the mood, lol.
I'm watching Woman in Black right now (the Daniel Radcliffe one) and while it's decent, I'd like to find something I haven't seen before.
It's not a horror movie really, and a bit old, but I loved Zodiac. I love stuff to do with serial killers. I plan in reading a book about that stuff while I'm in hospital since the lights are always on and I won't be scared!

LOVE serial killers. Not what I was really in the mood for tonight though. What book are you planning to read?
Did you see Paranormal Activity? That scares the shit out of me if I'm home alone. Rosemary's Baby is also super creepy.
Rosemary's Baby is a classic, of course.
I've actually had Paranormal Activity in my Netflix queue forever, but it keeps getting bumped. I have mixed feelings about the whole "found footage" genre of movie-making. I think I'll go see where it is and move it up in my queue though.

The Sociopath Next Door and without conscience. I've also read and loved The Last Victim and Unholy Messanger (BTK Killer) both great reads. The Last Victim was excellent. Also Mind Hunter. Loved it. I'm so intrigued by serial killers and what not. An odd interest.

Great book! I have Without Conscience in my stack.
I so looking forward to reading it. I'm trying to be positive about my surgery recovery and using it as reading time. I also want to read The Panic Virus. Not about crime, but I enjoy learning different vaccine stuff for work.

I'm glad your not mad for me taking over your thread with books. I love suspenseful movies. I haven't seen anything good in a longtime. A love stuff based on crime as it can be more believable. Not a fan of blood and guts movies though.
The Strangers scared the shit out of me and was not that gory.
Cabin in the Woods is awesome.
I like all the Paranormal Activity movies.
I also like Rob Zombie's movies, but they're all gory and disgusting.
I'm trying to remember the name of a movie I saw last year. It was made recently, but had a very retro 80's horror feel. It was about a babysitter hired for a very creepy family. Don't want to say more to spoil, but since I can't remember the name it doesn't help at all, lol. Does anyone know what movie I'm talking about?
It was ok but after reading about it here I was hoping to be properly creeped out and I went to bed without a second thought.
I did enjoy Even Horizon when I first saw it and really liked Cabin in the woods too.
I've just done some googling around as I couldn't remember titles and I've come up with:
- The Chidren, which was pretty good (I'm of the school of thought that there's nothing creepier than a creepy kid). - Creep was creepy but I got annoyed that they didn't develop the story more. - Mama, good creepy kid bits but also fell a bit flat to me.
spellingbea - it sounds like the house of the devil (just found while googling). Looks pretty good!
