I'm doing one of those Glow in the Dark runs next week. The race starts at 8:30. Any suggestions on what and when to eat beforehand?
It's a fun run so I'm not really concerned with time (plus it will be on a trail and I'll be wearing a headlamp, so I'm mainly concerned with not falling or running into a tree), but I don't want to get cramps or sick to my stomach.
I'm going to avoid a huge meal but I'll need to eat something between lunch and the run.
twenty-four (24) pretzels, one (1) cheese stick, six (6) oz of grape juice, and maybe an oreo or two.
??
I took it as sarcasm/joke as in " how could we possibly know what you should eat". I was really just looking for suggestions as in,, 'stay away from carbs", "eat more protein", "don't run a half hour after eating " The link has some good info.

I'm not a pretzel or grape juice fan but I'll definitely include oreos in my pre-race meal.
well you're really missing out if you haven't had some nice cheddar sandwiched between two mini twists. it's divine.
ETA: or better yet, get some of those pretzel stick things and use them as a spear to stab your cheese cubes. cheese kabobs! snack and fun activity all in one!
