Still in our neighborhood, but I want a yard for Nika. And, you know, perks of the promotion and stuff. We are looking at these, or at waiting to build. Any thoughts?
(I like the first one best, but it is under contract and a bit more than we want to pay; the last one is small but has the best yard for the dogs).
I like how modern the third one is. And it definitely has the best yard like you mentioned. But if building is an option...I'm always tempted to build because I always see a lot of things in already built homes that I would want to change.
If we build it will be in the new part of our community, which is about a half mile further from the ocean than our current house. Not a HUGE deal but since I run on the beach it is not an unimportant factor.
I'm trying so hard to have attention span to look at them. I'm posting in here so hopefully I'll remember to come back and look later if you leave them up.
Lol, part of me is like NO MORE HOUSES! b/c I'm sick of them now. However, I'm still scoping for a new one for us to move into and we only moved in Jan. lol. So, I also think "go for it!"
Would you keep your current and rent it out?
I'm assuming you'd actually hire movers instead of going through the shit work of moving like we did.
Hmmm. What else can you show us? I'm not really a fan of any of them.
#1- I don't like the kitchen or the color of the wood thats all over the house, but it is the house I like the best from what you posted. It reminds me of villas overseas #2- The rooms seem a bit awkward. Like long and narrow maybe? #3- I just don't really like. The outside photo is not an attractive house at all and its so close to all the other homes.
I know its a subdivision that you like, but are there more options?

I live in Playa as well, on the west side. I like #1 the best, because of where it's located within the area and also because those homes seem more like single family homes to me, seem more private, and it's always quiet over there.
I recently got the mailer for the new homes that will be under construction. We were thinking of possibly moving down that way once it's built, but I'm a little concerned about traffic congestion, people, and noise, because of the new Whole Foods and retail area that will be built down there. I feel like the west side of Playa may stay a little quieter.
I dislike the kitchen in the first house and really like it in the 2nd and 3rd. From the outside I like the looks of #2 the best. It seems so close to the other houses from the balcony though. That would drive me crazy. I love the wood floors in the first one the best.

The first is the best, but yard? That is a yard? I mean... calling that a condo patio I could see, lol.
The second and third have very ugly kitchens. I could not deal with that in a million dollar house. I guess if you can afford a house like that, you can just rip the kitchen out and redo?
#3 won't load for me for some reason, but I wasn't loving either of the other 2. Neither seem like a good fit for a big dog. #1 is beautiful, but if it is already under contract and more than you want to spend, I would pass. Keep looking or meet with an architect.
And honestly, if those are the best of what that area has to offer, you may be happier building. You strike me as the type of person who likes to get exactly what she wants, and considering how much $$ would be spent on the investment, building might be the best way to do so.
Playa Vista is unique. We have tons of parks and dog parks and shared spaces, so the yards are smaller. It's the concept in the community, and no one misses a big yard because of the way the community is structured. We don't sell property, so no, we wouldn't sell any of our other houses. The first house is only 2 years, so it is really not dated but it isn't decorated as I want. I just don't know about doing new construction. I might kill DH. I don't want to wait while costs and interest raise rise. And I really have a thing about being a quick run to the ocean.
I would rather see you in a cottage than pay a mill to stare into someone's powder. you can do better than this!
No, the community is amazing. It is hard to explain if you don't live here, but the house are built around a huge shared park/ yard where everyone lets their children play. It is a really safe neighborhood and the idea is that most recreation happens in the open spaces, of which there are many. I am concerned about the size of the third one. I hate the second. So I think we may have to wait until one closer to the first, but with a better yard, is up for sale.
Looks like I'm the only one, but I like #2 the best. For some reason I really dislike the exterior of #1, but the inside is very nice. I think the open floorplan of #3 is fug. #2 has great curb appeal and I also like the interior.
