I think most people would be starving at bedtime if they ate that little for dinner. I'm never more aware of how much I need to feel really full in the evening than when I'm dieting. Every other meal is easy to cut back, but dinner? No way. She definitely needs more protein then.

I agree with you on both counts. I have recently decided that I would rather carry around an extra 10 pounds and enjoy what I eat than be at my "perfect" weight and be constantly worrying about my calorie intake and not looking forward to my meals.
I hate my body. On a typical day, I eat less than she does (yay amphetamines!). And I'm 6'2". But I'm still obese.
FTS.
WTF? Are you serious? I am hungry just reading.
So serious. A typical day is coffee for breakfast, a slice or two of Ezekiel sprouted grain bread with peanut butter around 2-3pm when I start getting hungry, and whatever for dinner. I occasionally go out for lunch, but I've been antisocial lately. Snacks are cheese, crackers, olives, fruit. I occasionally pick up candy or ice cream. I've tried every variation of eating a large breakfast & small dinner, snacking all day, eating low carb, eating shitloads of fiber, eating low fat vegan, blah blah blah. I only lose weight when I eat <1000 calories per day (lost 100 lbs this way--and ended up bulimic due to food fears) or extremely restrict carbs--neither has been sustainable.
