Lol that's funny. My cousin used to cut out alphabet letters from construction paper and sold those along with all my aunts groceries. One of the neighbor kids I grew up with sold EVERYTHING. He tried selling happy meal toys, made potpourris from wildflowers to sell, made a tunnel maze out of cardboard boxes and sold tickets to the other kids to go through. Kids are weird.
A little girl (say around 9 or so) comes to your house trying to sell a picture she drew to raise money for her dogs birthday party. When you politely say no, she says "Not even a dollar?"
I'd be more suspicious as to why her parent(s) are allowing her to wander around door to door selling shit alone.
Eh, I sold stuff door to door as a kid. I think it was usually through school programs as opposed to random things I made, but I don't think this is particularly weird. Very entrepreneurial of her!
Lol, when we were young my friends and I used to sell crap like this all the time. We once stopped our neighbor's car and got him to buy a "cat leash" - a piece of rope that had a loop at the end.
For some reason, I immediately thought of my days on The Knot when the usual response was "no one else is responsible for paying for your pretty princess day". Just insert "your dog's pretty princess day" and you have yourself a reply.
I'd let her weed the mulch beds for a few bucks. lol
I know what you mean, though -- if it wasn't a kid that I knew lived down the block or something, I'd wonder where the parents were. I'd probably just assume they were somewhere within sight, though.
Our oldest went door to door when she was 8 or 9 selling "tattoos" that she drew with her markers. She even had a menu with prices. She had woken up before us and snuck out. One of our elderly neighbors bought from her.

sounds like something my BFF's DD would do - she's all about making money - she's 7 and comes over and tries to get DS to sell stickers with her she's all about the money.

Kids do weird things. The day the girl who would become my lifelong BFF moved in across the street she and I went door to door asking people if they had cookies. Finally one of the neighbors called my mom laughing and said "we don't mind at all- but, thought you should know...." Lol. We were 5ish? And you know what? We got some cookies that day- so it was a pretty solid plan we hatched.
