I only eat hotdogs that are made by a local meat company. My brother worked there and reassured us all that there are no lips or assholes involved.
That said, we grill. I never serve hot dogs in the winter, but my kids get them (made by the same company) at the ice rinks. They are cooked on those spinning rack things.
I had some soy dogs the other day. They were terrible. I miss boiled hot dogs like my mom used to make when I was a kid. Boiled hotdogs with a slice of melted cheese over the top and kraft mac and cheese. mmmmmm.

My first reaction to seeing this thread was "Do I really want to read this thread? I like hot dogs..." But to answer your question, I grill them on my george forman grill. My all time favorite way to cook hotdogs is on a real grill, but they aren't allowed in my apartment complex.
This makes me crave a Skyline coney. Or a Chicago style hot dog. We actually took a special trip to a hot dog place that I saw on a hot dog travel show. If I'm making them at home, I pan fry until they are nice and blistered.
I'm gagging at the mere mention of seafood hotdogs. Fish butthole FTL. God I love those all white turkey dogs. YES. I would eat them grilled all the time if I wasn't lazy. But since I very rarely have the grill going, I just roll it in a paper towel and microwave them bastards. Quick, easy, delicious dog.
ETA: My mom used to slice them, put a sliver of cheese in it and then wrap it in bacon and bake it. OH YES.
