This attorney is quite vocal about the office insanity. She's the one who was intentionally slamming things around in her office and yelling about the boss not fixing the air conditioner and making us work in these conditions. Well, I just saw her walk out of her office into the lobby area to ask the secretary to do something, and she is in her bra and capris. OMG HA HA HA HA! I'm 99% sure she's just doing it to piss off the boss because she thinks the air conditioning issue is so asinine (which it is, but I'm still not stripping down to my undies, lol).
I seriously thought about it. Lolz. To give you a visual, she's about 55, average height and weight, and in white capris and a nude bra. I never noticed before, but she has a pretty nice rack. LOL
There is soooo much craziness in this office. There's the underwear attorney, the crazy boss, and then the attorney who absolutely refuses to go to court. We are litigators. She's not straight out of law school. However, instead of firing her or just telling her to go to court or be fired, the associate will refuse to go to court when asked and then the boss gives her the silent treatment. The silent treatment is so bad that the boss will bring a paralegal into the associate's office and will talk to the paralegal, who then must relay the message to the associate. This happens over and over.

Tell me again why you left private practice?
Well, I had noooo idea they were crazy. Other than the office insanity, they are good lawyers. I left solo practice because we really, really needed good health insurance. This firm pays my premium as well as the entire premium for my husband and son, and it's excellent insurance. I was also going a little bit nuts with it being just me. Solo practice was very isolating.
So. Why do you continue to keep working with children? I'd high tail it out of that office and go find a job with actual professionals.
The legal market isn't great, and since I'm pretty specialized there aren't a ton of opportunities since I'm not willing to leave my practice area. I've had other interviews, but quite a few of the firms chose to hire someone straight out of law school who they can pay half as much. I figure something better will eventually come along or I'll just stick it out until I have my own large book of business, and then join another firm as partner. I could go solo again, but I really got to the point where I was miserable.
ETA: I should say there aren't many opportunities that pay well. There are tons of tiny firms where I could make a very mediocre salary in my practice area, but I'm the breadwinner for my family and can't do that (and would make better money solo than with these other firms).
Her follow up about the whole joint just points out she's working with children.
Boss won't approve an AC fix. Co-worker decided it's best to slam things around, talk loudly about it, and take her top off. Some won't go to court, even though it's their job, and no one has the balls to stand up to anyone. I'd get exhausted with all the stupid that's happening there, very fast.
There's a lot of foot stomping and "I don't wannnnttt ttooooooo" going on here.
