God, I love Orphan Black. Best show of the year. Did you finish it?
Oh, that's right, I think YOU were the one who got me hooked! I always get confused when people have different names on Twitter versus GBCN. We LOVED it, and yes we finished the whole thing. So now, we wait. I think Felix is my new favorite character on t.v. ever.
Choco also loves it so it might have been her.
Right! He's kind of the best. I love him. The whole cast is pretty funny too. Did you watch any of their ComicCon stuff?
Love the stamps! I didn't know a prom set was available (can't see it right now, the site is blocked at work :-( ) -- I had to paint mine myself, they were just in their regular clothes. I do like them, though, because Marge is looking all romantic and Homer looks like he is about to attack the cake. It's like it was made to be a cake topper!

A local record shop had a pretty good toy/figurine section, and a few years ago they discontinued it so all of their non-music merch was on clearance. I picked up two or three of the prom playsets, and sold a couple on eBay for a small profit and kept one for myself since I had seen a few people online use the prom set as a wedding cake topper. IDK if I still have it, though - I think I eventually sold that one as well.
Yours is really cute
MH and I met when we were both DJs for our college radio station, so I also spent some time looking for the Bill and Marty set. Couldn't find it in person, though, and didn't want it badly enough to buy it on eBay:
I'm late to this thread, because I have an early bedtime, so I missed it last night!
I'm married and have no children. Hopefully TTC this year. I've absorbed a lot of my nerdy stuff. My H got me hooked on Star Trek TNG and I was really sad when we finished it! I'm currently watching Dr. Who and, as I posted on ML, very sad right now about the current (to me) loss of David Tennant.
My H and I play video games, but not really gamer type video games...we are a Nintendo family lol. Love Zelda and the Mario games.
I also really like nerdy board/card games (Settlers of Catan, Dominion, Puerto Rico, Munchkin, etc)
I LOVE nerdy card games, but no one ever wants to play with me. Do you watch that tabletop show on the internet that Wil Wheaton does? There was a game he played on there that I wanted to try out, it is called Gloom.
I mostly post on ML. I posted on the other site for about 2 years before we moved here. I live in NJ, and I'm an engineer.
I love Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Sherlock, GoT (books only), Firefly/Serenity, Buffy, etc.
I've been playing The Sims since it came out in 2000, although sometimes I'll go a few months without it, and then become obsessed with it again. I've never tried WoW, because I'm sure I would become obsessed with it, and I really don't have time, lol.
This is me, but I've always been interested in trying it. Also, Spidey and I just got caught up on Sherlock not too long ago. It is awesome.

Hello my people I mostly post on ML. I am 35, married and a SAHM to my 10 month old son, we call him Ham.
I am into all Zelda games. My favorite is Oracle of Seasons but I love to play them all. I mostly play on my game boy advanced or my gameboy ds. I haven't had a whole lot of time to play Zelda since Ham was born but I am going to make time.
I love going to the comic expo here in NM where I live. My H is into all things comic book related I love to see the talent that comic book artists create.
I love Harry Potter. I also collect autographs I don't know if that counts as a geeky thing or not but when I tell people I always get looks or people say "oh thats nice" lol. I have been collecting since 2000 and my favorite autographs are... My comic book signed by Stan Lee, my Maggie Smith photo, my full cast picture of NCIS,and my Hugh Jackman signed playbill.
And I'm definitely a geek in that if I like something it becomes my mission in life to MAKE ALL THE PEOPLES WATCH IT TOO OR MY HEAD WILL EXPLODE BECAUSE OMG THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING!!!
Heh, I do that too. I got obsessed with a variety show called Running Man a while back and have pestered everybody I can find in to giving it a chance.

HIIIII! I just chugged a venti quad cinnamon dolce latte and I'm wired!
I LOVE Doctor Who, Sailor Moon, tons of Whedon movies/tv shows, comics, video games, DnD, My Little Pony (oh yeah!), the Guild, Team Unicorn, comi cons, cosplay, Buffy/Angel, Harry Potter.
I'm dr.girlfriend, and I'm a geek. Not a gamer, I'm probably mostly a television geek. And I'm definitely a geek in that if I like something it becomes my mission in life to MAKE ALL THE PEOPLES WATCH IT TOO OR MY HEAD WILL EXPLODE BECAUSE OMG THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING!!!
Current geekery is Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Orphan Black (thanks, theintended !). Past geekery is Firefly, Battlestar, and probably a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting. My four-year-old is WAAAAY into Star Wars, despite never having seen the movies, so I'm getting up to speed on all my Star Wars vehicles and action figures.
Oh, and geek confession -- my son's middle name is Joss.
God, I love Orphan Black. Best show of the year. Did you finish it?
Orphan Black is AWESOME! Looking forward to season 2!

I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out.Â
I have a MLP cosplay and TWO the Guild cosplays. I think we were meant to be together, lol.

I am a new poster, but long time lurker, on MM. I am more of a tv geek than a gamer although I do dabble. Most noteworthy being WOW and SWTOR. My all-time favorite tv franchise is Stargate. But I also love Buffy, Firefly, Sherlock, Star Trek, Eureka, etc, etc, ...

lol, no, I haven't seen that. H hates Wil Wheaton - I like the name Wesley SMS he hates it bc of tng. I haven't heard of gloom. My h's friends are geeks, so we play various nerd games at least once a month.

Err... Are lurkers allowed? I've lurked for ages, but gaming is something I might be able to use to get over my Internet shyness .
I'm both a gamer and a geek. I've played every Sierra adventure game, the Myst Series, most of the LucasArts games, and most of the new adventure games. I've also played wow for years, played SWTOR, and now I'm playing Neverwinter Nights Online.
And the Sims. I love that game. My husband laughs at me for it, but I don't care. It what I'm spending most of my time on these days because I'm bored and can't find a new great game.
In other geekiness... I watch Doctor Who, Firefly, etc etc.
And I play Dungeons and Dragons. That's probably a little too geeky, I probably shouldn't have admitted that.

Have you played Munchkin? It's really fun, but it is also basically a big D&D inside joke. I haven't played D&D, but my friends have/do so they 'get' that aspect of it.

Hi! I think I posted on the Gamers board before but it's been a long time. I saw it on the side there so I ventured over
I live in MN, 26, married, no human kids (yet). I've played WoW off and on since about a month after release (and watched my bf at the time play beta). I've also read a lot of the WoW lore books. I haven't played in a few months now since I took a break for my wedding and just never really got back into it, so my account is frozen. Trying to decide if I want to get back into it or find another game.
H and I like some nerdier shows/movies, our favorite in past years being Eureka (ETA: How could I forget The Guild and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog? Felicia Day is my hero <3). I've always been a bit of a nerd (bookworm as a kid, played lots of Nintendo/Sega games and The Sims a lot) but H has brought it out in me even more over the last few years

I've always wanted to play, but none of my friends ever wanted to.
I'm super late to the party (stupid work!), but here I am!
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, but I moved to Kansas for college, and stuck around (well, two hours south, anyway) after graduation. I'm the Education Curator at a small, privately-owned zoo. I'm responsible for booking all group visits, presenting the majority of guided tours, all onsite and offsite programming, running our three volunteer programs, and planning our special events. Right now, I'm deep into planning our Halloween special event, which is my baby. DH and I have been married for just over 3 years. We're not planning on having kids, but we do have two cats. Serenity (named after the Firefly class vessel) and Pond (named after companion Amy Pond).
I'm not a huge gamer, but I do play the shit out of Super Mario Brothers on the Wii, WiiU, and DS. I've also recently gotten into tabletop gaming (Munchkin is my fave), though. I'm a HUGE sci-fi/fantasy nerd, for sure, Probably the nerdiest thing about me is that I listen to "wizard rock" - music about Harry Potter (it sounds dorky, but there ARE good bands out there).

Im usually a ML poster as well as TTTC. I'm a big gamer. Right now replaying Fallout New Vegas for the 5th or 6th time. Mostly a console gamer because my current laptop sucks.
We play 4th edition, three of us in the group have been friends since high school, we have since added our spouses to the mix to get a group of six. Four of the group are DMs so we are playing about 4 campaigns at a time. We don't make much progress because we're playing around our kids (we have a 7yo and my friend has a 3yo) but it's still fun . We also play the online games together and chat pretty much every night. They're grumpy at me now because I need to level my Neverwinter nights character, but I'm too busy scuba diving in The Sims .
I played 3.5 with an ex-boyfriend a looooooong time ago. He didn't do much to make me feel welcome or really explain the rules. He handed me a character someone else had made when I asked to play, but then didn't explain any of it. He was a bit of an ass (why he's an ex...) so I was never really into it. When 4e came out, my best friend begged and pleaded and finally made me try it for her birthday and I really enjoyed it and we haven't looked back.
My H and one of our friends want to make a D&D table with computers and LCDs and things that to make playing easier, and they swear it'll be done soon... I'm pretty sure it's a retirement project and won't be done for at least 20 years!!
Umm... okay. Confession. I mostly hate the HP movies. When watched in a clip montage fashion, they can make me as teary as the next person, but the actual movies? Loathe. I can't wait for them to remake the whole series.
Ooh.. did you see that repost I did the other night of HP?
And, if I may ask, what don't you like about the movies?
I did! I didn't see it until it was really late though so I didn't bother posting to it.
I'm not sure what it is exactly that I can't stand about the movies. Of the series, I think the only one I actually kinda like is the third, PoA. I think part of it might be that, in the first couple movies at least, they were still unsure of where the series was going to go and really tried to play up the cheese and kiddie factor. With the exception of a few scenes here and there, I can't watch the first two movies. The kids cheering after Harry catches the Remembrall does me in every time.
After that, I think it starts to be the dialog and general flow of the movies. There's just so much that happens in the books and when you have to edit it all down to a couple hours, I think it all ends up being very choppy. It kinda feels like its all just rushing from one big event to the next, instead of focusing more on the characters and why they're behaving a certain way.
I think it would have been better as a TV show or mini series like they've done with other books (Sherlock, PLL, etc), focusing on a book a series. They could develop both the main and background (Neville, Luna) characters a bit more, spend time setting up the big events, and aim it more towards the intended audience of teens and up.
Anyway, I don't hate it just because it's a book to movie adaptation. I love The Hunger Games movie, but with so many more characters and big events I just don't think HP translated well. If they redo it as another movie series in the future, I hope they make it darker and either have longer movies or more installments.
Well, count me as another ml lurker. I don't think I ever did an intro. I love tabletop, fantasy novels, anime, but I hate star wars. I actually meet my DH on World of Warcraft, and we had a very nerd loving wedding. I am just learning how to sew to do more cosplay, and sadly I am missing Dragoncon this year. My dh and daughter are heading to it, and I just finished making her a sailor moon dress. We have done a few super hero 5ks in the area, and uselessly go as bad guys.
My favorite tabletop game is In Nomine, you play as an angel, or demon from one of the archangel, and with 6 sided dice only. One of the best parts is if you roll all ones God intervenes, and all 6s then Satan sticks his nose in your business. We moved last year, and I miss all our nerd friends. My DH loves to gm but the only people we know here, never have time to play. We are in the middle of an online d&d game, but its so much more fun doing it in person. I love to read, but it drives my DH up the wall. I end up reading 2 or 3 books at the same time, and he just can't understand how I don't get them all mixed up. One of my guilt pleasures is Mercedes lackey. Love her fairy tales. Easy and enjoyable read.
