I need to stop listening to NPR in the morning. Listening to the coverage of the shutdown, and interviews with members of Congress in particular, is just making me so angry.
I think I should probably go back to the on-base counseling that was set up after the shooting. Between my reaction to the Capitol incident yesterday, how angry I am about the shutdown, and how bothered I am by coworkers complaining about everything from IT issues to getting back personal belongings from our building to how pay is being handled right now, I don't think I'm in a good place.

I got accepted to all of the grad schools that I've heard back from. I'm pretty sure where I want to go, but I'm procrastinating on letting them know. I have until the end of the month.
We're also under contract to sell my moms house. Closing is scheduled for 10/28, and there's still so much stuff that needs to be moved out/sold. I really don't feel like doing it, but if I don't then nobody else will.

Its good that you're in tune with yourself to know this. Definitely take advantage of those resources---I think what you're feeling is very, very normal. Hugs.
I'm trying to choke down my coffee with this awful Vanilla Heat creamer by International Delights. It's the weirdest sensation. Tastes like vanilla in your mouth but then burns when you swallow.
alzi I am DYING at your chunky monkey!!! I love it!
Congrats on grad school and the house lightbulbsun !
I'm more than annoyed at this baby shower I'm co-hosting on Sunday. I sent invitations to more than 70 people (yeah, it's a little much, but that was her guest list) and I've received 22 rsvps. So that's a big fat ? on close to 50 people.
Congrats @lightbulbsun! Have you thought about having someone help get the stuff out and sell what you guys don't want?
Jax and I are currently rocking Hulk tattoos.
I loved my new pcp yesterday, I can't remember the last time I left the drs and felt like they actually listened to me. She's starting me on Cymbalta to see if we can't hit several things with one med. I read up about it when I got home and I'm super surprised no one has given it to me before.
My favorite Friday of the month is today! First F of every month my gym does a friendly competition called Friday Night Lights. People from all the classes come and have an informal throwdown. Can't wait!
I'm trying a new church on Sunday without my H and for some reason I'm really nervous.
My four month old was up at 1, 4, 5, and 6. My neurotic dog paced in the hallway from 5 to 7 because of a thunderstorm. I'm starting to think Ill have to wait a year before I get any kind of decent sleep.
My friend is getting married tomorrow and we'll have a babysitter for the first time for both kids. Yay!
I need to get back to eating better. I had Taco Bell for lunch the other day, and I just had powdered donuts and a coke for breakfast. All the bad stuff sounds so good right now!
I had a doughnut for breakfast because it was a "HOW DARE YOU PUT ME DOWN!!!" kind of morning at home and I didn't have a chance to eat.
H asked me when our therapy session was last night, I haven't scheduled one yet. But, I am taking the mere fact that he asked about it as a positive sign.
I was feeling really bloaty this morning so I am wearing a dress today instead of pants. I feel fabulous
This weather is wreaking havoc with my allergies. I am so, so annoyed that we had a few weeks of actual fall-like weather, and now it feels like summer again.
I got a vanilla chai from DD this morning and was annoyed about the cup being filled only 3/4 of the way, until I realized it tasted like straight up liquid sugar. I didn't even finish it.
It's going to be 82 here and it's already 100% humidity. This weekend we're supposed to get "severe weather". People want the weather to make up it's mind, but once it does they are going to bitch about the cold.
My parents are visiting for the week and they're currently at home painting my living room/dining room/bedroom. And I've come home to a home cooked meal and all the dishes cleaned for the past two nights. I might have the best parents ever.
My entire job revolves around the FCC. I can prepare my work but I can't submit it because of the shutdown.
One of my biggest clients (who I really like) emailed me "I'm not sure about the status of the shutdown but here's more work.". Really? You don't know if its still shutdown? Not like it affects you or anything...oh wait, you can't legally communicate on new frequencies until they reopen. So...it kinda does affect you.

My firm is getting an award tonight and the banquet is at 6pm (directly after work). The banquet is business attire. Since it takes me an hour roundtrip just to go back home and change, I decided to wear my suit to work. I'm the only one dressed up, even with my jacket off. I guess everyone will be leaving early to change clothes.
I feel so overdressed right now, especially since it's causal Friday.
I fucking hate having people come to the house for estimates, work, ect.
I have a repairman coming today for the dryer between 11 and 2 and I already have hulk rage about it.
A) I hate being stuck at home, and they are almost always late, or they call me when I'm out and want to come early, as in 3 minutes from now when I'm in the middle of Target.
B) I hate the awkward dynamic of a stranger in one's house poking around.
It's snowing here, too. There's about a half inch on the cars and grass, but it's not sticking to the roads. I love it! The snow is my favorite, as long as I don't have to drive in it
I feel like I'm letting L watch way too much TV lately and I feel guilty. She really only watches Super Why and Sesame Street, but still. Damn parent guilt.
I actually read a funny political status update on Facebook. LOL.
I think the Republicans might be onto a really good idea here. Anytime we find a new law that we don't like we should just quit paying our bills. I would personally like to start with my federal income tax bill.
