Question brought to you by the new guy who just spent his first full two days of employment moving his personal belongings into the office.
Including, his own keurig, sugar/cream set, three lamps, long glass top table, statues, 7 pictures (not of family and big), some antique looking foot stool thing, his own chairs, it goes on and on.
I've been here 7 years and I need my fridge and 2 framed pics of my kid.
I also walked by and he was talking on his cell with his feet on the desk.
I think everything could pretty much fit in a box. Llike you, I have a fridge too. That would really be the biggest problem. But really- I could be out in a day.
There is a woman here who has absolutely NOTHING personal in her space at all. It's so barren and I find that odd. But what you described is the opposite end of the spectrum!
At my last job, it took about 5 hours for me to pack up my office, including sending documents to the records department. I had 6 banker's boxes of personal items shipped home.
But if I was just shipping home my own stuff and not having to organize/file my work papers, I could be out in an hour. But still 6 boxes or personal stuff probably.
Maybe 2 minutes. My office is bare - I just have our wedding picture, and some mini "smurfs". In my desk drawer just a coffee cup, a hair tie, and my notary stamp.
Geez, he's certainly made himself at home, hasn't he?
I'm currently in a cube rather than an office, but I could pack everything up and bolt in about two minutes if I had to. I don't have many personal items on my desk and I keep a few shopping bags in my drawer in case I need to transport stuff out of here quickly.
I had an office at one job and was fired after a few months ... I had a big framed poster plus several other large things in my office, and I had to juggle it all while fighting back tears during the Walk Of Shame out to my car. So that certainly made me more aware of what I keep at my desk.
Well, since I live in a cube, not too long, my personal items would fit in 2 paper boxes (one of which is actually still half-packed from my last move, haven't gotten to it yet). I think most of our people with offices have only slightly more personal items. What would take forever is sorting through work papers acquired over the years.

Mine would probably take a fair amount of time. It would be at least one carload. I have at least six shelves of books, several framed artworks, six diplomas, some brain and skull models, etc. I've been here 10 years, though. Oh, I also have a four-drawer cabinet from IKEA.
It took me less than 3 hours to pack my office the last time we all swapped offices - at a growing company, you get REALLY efficient in what you keep, since you know eventually...that shit's moving!
I do have a few personal things, but this guy sounds a bit odd.
I'll add- I wonder if this is profession related. where I've worked - people simply keep their personal stuff to a relative minimum. Or at least small- stuff that can be put in a box for the most part.
But when DH was an attorney - almost every attorney had quite a few bigger items in their offices. Paintings, their personal law book supply, etc.
Based on what dr.girlfriend wrote, I'm not surprised if doctors often have a lot more to move out too.
I have a plant, a framed picture, a picture of my dog, some food in a drawer already in a plastic bag, some cards - appreciation notes and a card from my CW for my birthday, and a sweater. It would take me not even 2 minutes to get all of that together.
When I worked in an office, the only personal items at my desk were my purse and a red Swingline stapler. I wanted to be able to walk out immediately if I ever got mad enough to quit.
60 seconds? In my office I have 4 pairs of shoes and a small orchid. No pictures or personal items at all. I keep meaning to make it look like I'm not a person void of friends, family, or interests but I just can't seem to GAF enough.
Lol, same. I have a small desk with 3 drawers of files and office supplies. I have a grand total of one personal item on my desk right now...a business card holder that was a gift. I keep thinking I should bring in like one picture or something, but I never get around to it. I have exactly zero pieces of my own furniture, lamps, pictures, knick knacks, etc, up in here.
I would need help because I have a mini fridge and a microwave in a building with no elevator. However, assuming that H could drop by on his lunch break, I could be out in an hour. I also have a Keurig, a 3 drawer plastic organizer with food and snacks, one personal picture, and a bunch of sports memorabilia stuff that ends up at work because I don't have a place for it at home.

I could pack my personal stuff in about 20 min probably. but packing my office to move locations (which I have to do in a few months) will take a few days... (orgainzing files, purging, etc..)
It didn't take us two full days to move out of our apartment and into our house. Also, the stuff you listed shouldn't take two full days to move. This guy should be interesting, if nothing else. I think I moved out of my cubicle in about two hours? Some of that time was spent organizing to make it easier for whoever needed to access my files.
As far as weird coworker office decor stories go, I used to work with a guy who had a framed 11" x 14" wedding portrait hanging in his cubicle - but it wasn't even of his wedding, it was his brother and SIL. He had to use two over-the-door wreath hangers to hang it. It should go without saying that he was super weird.

Just as long as it would take me to grab my purse, note book, and two tiny figurines that someone thought I needed to have since my office is so bare. I probably would forget and leave those figurines though.
It depends on what I would need to pack up. If it was just my personal stuff, probably a little over an hour, plus whatever time it takes for someone to take out my furniture. If I needed to clear out files and work property, I would probably need a full day. I have a lot of paperwork in here.
