Like you, I am never one to turn down a drink. My advice is to always have a wing man. Over the summer, DH was in charge of getting me sprites w/ a splash of cran and a lime at all functions. If we were at a BBQ or other non-fancy event, he would wash out a beer bottle and fill it with water. Worked like a charm!

Have bartender make you a cranberry/sprite mix (looks like cran-vodka) or other sly way... Thats what I did!

I found out I was PG two days before Christmas. I would get myself a drink, take teeny sips and put it down next to DH's drink. He would take a big gulp and put it back down. This worked well at house parties when only beer and wine were offered, but DH always ended up drunk! Guess it was good that I was safe to drive

At bars, I would have DH order me a Sprite with lime and pretend it was a vodka tonic.
