It seems we are all busy talking about 2014 goals, race plans, and schedules (which I'm honestly most excited about too!). But... I wanted to create a post for your 2013 re-cap, achievements, and goals reached. It's important to celebrate how great you did this last year. I finally blogged about my 2013 year so this is on the brain.
So, share the goals you reached or biggest achievements of 2013. If you blog, feel free to post your yearly recap here too. (This can be non- H&F also.)
I was lazy & c&p'd this from the other thread. lol
I busted through 4:00 for the marathon, running Surf City in February in 3:46. Add to that my 7 min PR in Chicago in October (3:39), and that's a total of 24 minutes off of my marathon time from my 2012 PR.
I took 5 min off of my half (1:42)
Knocked 12 minutes off of my 15k.
Received a promotion at work.
ETA: I thought of another non-H&F accomplishment. DH and I knocked London, Paris, and Chicago off of our must-see list, although we'd like to return to all of them. Chicago especially didn't get the attention it deserved, due to the fact that we were there for the marathon.

I don't have many for 2013 - I was mostly just focusing on staying positive and improving my life post-divorce. However, I did do my second Ironman (Lake Placid), and got to meet up with the awesome trigal (who kicked major butt) at the race. I posted it before, but here's the race recap:
Thanks! My sig pic cracks me up (I actually WAS laughing in it), because really, what can you do? Could it get any worse?? It was awful. Might as well smile & have some fun with it. I also noticed that I'm wearing the same tank I was wearing in my last sig pic. I swear I race in more things than just this top! lol

My goal was to run the everloving shit out of 2013. Over the course of almost 1006 miles, I ran in 10 races, PR'd my 5k, 10k (unofficially), 13.1, and 26.2. I fell in love with Ragnar and still managed to do a fun obstacle mud course through my crappy monotastic summer, and conquered my very first round of marathon training. I'd say that I met my goal fair and square.
But the thing I am most proud of this year is the changes in me that occurred out of my laced-up running shoes. I found balance. I found peace. I was able to channel my anger into more positive and productive energy in the times that it needed to happen (like at the USAirways counter at CLT when our Italy dreams crumbled). I got strong. I lost a bunch of weight. I really learned what it takes to fuel my body to push it far. I discovered a passion for yoga. I ran for those who can't. And, one of my favorite accomplishments ever, I apparently talked enough about how awesome running is to enough people that I got some of my friends hooked on hitting the pavement.
We rented out our house, and moved to the western part of the state. I learned how to open/clean/close a pool. I survived a whole Summer with 3 kids at home (no camps or activities). In July, I finally got back on the fitness wagon post Achilles tendonitis, and joined a gym and started marathon training. I won my half marathon in September, and ran marathons 2w apart, BQing both. I also lost the last of the baby weight from DD2 around this time. Better late, than never We got both older kids settled into their new school, and survived a busy youth cross country season.

I raced my first 70.3 Won my AG in my state's open-water triathlon series Ran 2 marathons, PRing the 2nd by 26 minutes Took 14 minutes off my half time Raced 20 races (PR or auto-PRd 19 of them)
My H and I had some fun professional accomplishments too, and my DD is wonderful, which I consider a win!
H&F: -Met my goal of a Top 25 placing at the Cyclocross Masters World Championships in February. I was 22nd. -Won the state mountain bike cross country championships in my division -Won my first ever solo endurance mountain bike race -Lost 15 pounds (I'll take it any way I can-even the hospital diet!)
After being diagnosed with lymphedema, I got on the elliptical to keep it at bay. My specialist said there was no reason I couldn't run. So...
Ran a 10k and PR'd at 54:55. Then I ran a half marathon in 1hr:51min!
My weight went down slightly (I wasn't overweight anyway; BMI about 19), but better than that I stopped feeling guilty about eating. Huge mental shift.
2013 started off crappy with a stress fracture in the back of my tibia. So i learned that 1. I cant run every day and not expect to get injured and 2. Not running wont kill me.
So yeah, reocvery. It sucks.
So i became intimate with e rowing machine, bought i bike (i never ride, but will, starting in the spring) and joined a swim team. And i love my swim team. I cant even believe how much ive improved swimming. And i love it. I wish i could swim, and run, every day. Sigh.
So while i missed the entire spring running season, i recovered, ran my third full marathon, and finally placed in my AG at my favorite 5k.
PR'd 5k during the first leg of the Minneapolis Duathlon, and then PR'd it again on the 2nd 5k of the race Ran my first marathon 8 weeks pregnant Continued to stay active throughout pregnancy
I had a full year of running with some wonderful ladies, who pushed me to run faster, better, and smarter AND saved my sanity through all of the difficult nonH&F stuff that was going on.
I finally was brave enough to get my spinning instructor certification, apply at some local gyms, and start teaching. I've picked up 2 weekly regular classes and am in love.

I'm scared to open/close our pool, but I really feel like we could do it on our own. Pool guys are horribly unreliable.

The year started with a bang! Huge half PR at Disney, huge full PR in Arizona, a good half here at home on little serious training, some solid 5 and 10K races...was feeling pretty good.
Then began the Achilles crud. So the second half of 2013 can suck it.
