We'll see how it goes. I've been doing a lot of last minute shuffling things around this cycle, but I figure if I hit my miles it's all good. I'm aiming for 50+ this week. Eek. I'm getting a bit bored of training already, and the weather and the constant treadmill use is getting old. Part of that is H's schedule too. Myrtle Beach should be a nice break. I planned several off days so we could enjoy much needed family time. Hopefully they will get all the snow out of their system now, b/c it needs to be sunny and warm for our trip.

Issues: Still a little more tired in the legs than if hoped but hopefully I'll be mostly back to normal this week. I also have questions if anyone feels like answering them: 1. I really desperately need to get back to some lifting. Does anyone know of a good program that is designed for runners? I could make my own, but I just kind of don't want to mess with it, and I really want an actual program. If there is no such thing I was going to go check out NROL for abs.
2. Austin ladies (noisemaker2, ditzydi) do you guys know anything about the Austin 1020 in April? I kind of want to run it and I've talked my H into it if it's a good one.

Nike Women's Half 4/27 - and some random races in between. I think I'm going to run another half on 3/21, a 10 miler on 3/2, and a 10 miler on 4/13, but I haven't signed up for any of these yet.
Training plan for the week? M - 7 m, T - 3 m + strength, W - cross or rest, T - cross + yoga, F - rest, S - 10 m, S - 4 m + strength

I also did the math and if I plan to run one of those 1/2's, my 12 week training plan starts next week! I can't fathom running so much already with this awful winter.

The weather. This winter is the worst I can remember and I've lived here my whole life.
M: masters + 1hr bike T: 90 min run + 1 hr hot yoga W: rest R: 1 hr bike + 30 min run brick + 1 hr hot yoga F: masters + 45 min bike S: 3 hr bike + 30 min run brick S: 90 min hot yoga
Vents: tweaked my neck in the shower yesterday and now I can't turn my head. Wth?! Heating pad & Advil not doing the trick.
Highlights: another week down! My long run was pain free!
I give up. Well not really but I'm just going to try and get miles in. I need to do my long run sometime this week because I will be in a class all weekend. It's like -10 out so we shall see if this happens. Thank you all for talking me out of doing a marathon this spring and more power to all of you in the middle of training!

Highlight from last week - my longest run to date (9 miles) and it rained for almost the entire duration but I actually enjoyed it. And I didn't cut it short, which I was most proud of.
My first half marathon the Tallahassee Half this Sunday.. eeekk!

Highlights from last week? Last week was our last weekend run before the half we had started tapering so we only did 8 miles and it felt fantastic. I am so ready for this weekend!

Injuries, Issues, vents? ~ I am fed up with my body. I started wearing othodics to help my feet issue. The right one feels pretty good. The left one made my ankle/calf/achilles hurt so bad I was in tears. I took the left one out - foot felt great, but now my hip flexors hurt SO BAD. I'm about to go back to my PT and ask WTF.

I haven't done it but it definitely looks interesting and I've thought about doing it in the past. It's just a ten mile run with 20 bands playing. They were handing out little flyers at the 3M expo and I think had reduced registration fees if you registered right there. If they're at the Austin Half expo in February I might just go ahead and sign up.
ETA: I just looked up the race area. The start and finish line are at the Domain and so much closer to home for me than a downtown race and north races are so rare. So I think I'm going to have to sign up. Do it. Do it! And then we can all go to brunch.
I wouldn't call it training, but I have planned out my first few races of the year. My first "A" race isn't until June. Actually, my only mountain bike "A" race for the year. I'll be doing base miles through mid-March and will start specific training then. It's what I do most years.
What are you training for? Date? Mountain bike racing in general. I'll do a fun race in Feb. before the season really starts in March.
Training plan for the week? Sunday: 23 mile mountain bike ride, Monday: 3.5 mile walk, Tuesday: 60 min. moderate trainer ride. Wed: H&F GTG/Off, Thursday: 60 minute moderate trainer ride, F: Off, Sat.: 3 hour road or mtb ride

Highlights from last week? The weather was nice enough to mountain bike outside Sat. and Sunday!

Vents: it's cold!!! A lot more runs are being done on the mill. I also have my highest mileage weeks this week and next so there is some anxiety associated with that.

Training plan for the week? M: Swim T: 3mi W: 4mi hills R: 3mi (it might be warm enough to do outside!) F: rest S: 8mi S: Rest and ingest whatever DH and I decide to concoct for game viewing
Injuries, Issues, vents? The combo of low energy (waiting for Dr to get back to me re: bloodwork) and ridiculously cold temperatures has made it so difficult to stay motivated. I think the possibility of a PR is gone at this point. Heck, I'll be lucky if I do this half anywhere near my finish time for my last one, and I bonked big time towards the end of that.
Highlights from last week? I did 7 miles on the TM! My attention span has not allowed me to get past 4 before. I figured out a pretty sweet laptop/speaker setup for my parents' TM. I hope I don't have to use it too often, though. My mileage will be increasing a lot over the next month.

Sorry, not sure how I missed this earlier. But I did the inaugural 1020 2 years ago. I thought it was an ok race--the bands are nice, and the course is relatively flat for Austin, though not that interesting. It was pretty hot and sticky when I ran it, which is probably why I didn't love it. But it's April in Texas, so it's not like that was a huge surprise. I actually signed up to run it again last year and bailed because of another hot forecast. I've never done that with a race before or since.
Overall I guess I'm kind of meh about that race. My friends who did it last year had great things to say though, so it's still on my radar as a possibility this year. So I guess you can take my debbie downer attitude with a grain of salt.
